HPU MBA Admissions 2026 Open; Apply by May 25

Himachal Pradesh University Business School (HPUBS), Shimla, has opened MBA admissions for the 2026-2027 academic session.

Eligible candidates can submit their online applications from April 17, 2026, to May 25, 2026, through the official portals hpuniv.ac.in.

The university will conduct the HPU-MAT (Himachal Pradesh University Management Aptitude Test) entrance examination at seven centers across Himachal Pradesh, with the exact exam date to be announced shortly.

The MBA program at HPUBS is a two-year course offered for 120 seats divided equally between subsidised (60) and non-subsidised (60) categories. Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree from a recognized university with minimum 50% marks, or 45% for SC/ST candidates, to be eligible for admission.

The admission process comprises application rating, management aptitude test, group discussion, and personal interview, with separate merit lists prepared for subsidized and non-subsidized categories.

HPU MBA Admissions 2026 Important Dates

The application fee varies based on category and seat preference. General category candidates must pay Rs. 1,250 for subsidized seats only, Rs. 1,250 for non-subsidized seats only, or Rs. 2,000 for both categories combined.

SC/ST/EWS/PWD candidates pay Rs. 700 for single category or Rs. 1,000 for both categories. Candidates appearing in their final year bachelor's examination can also apply, provided they submit their degree completion certificate at the time of group discussion and interview.

HPU-MAT 2026 Exam Centres and Test Pattern

The HPU-MAT will be conducted at seven examination centres, including Shimla, Solan, Dharamshala, Hamirpur, Mandi, Una, and Palampur.

The entrance test comprises four sections: General Knowledge, English Language Skills, Reasoning and Numerical Skills, and Quantitative Analysis, with 50 questions in each section.

There is no negative marking in the examination, and the performance in HPU-MAT serves as the basis for screening candidates for group discussion and personal interview rounds.

What’s Next for Students

After the entrance examination, qualified candidates will be called for group discussion and personal interview rounds scheduled in July 2026.

The final merit list will be prepared based on the combined weightage of application rating (30 marks), management aptitude test score, group discussion performance, and personal interview evaluation.

Candidates selected for admission must complete their registration and pay the required fees within the stipulated timeline.
