The Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management (GNIHM), Kolkata, has officially opened the registration process for its Joint Entrance Test (JET) 2026, inviting candidates to apply for undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) and diploma programmes in hotel management, hospitality, culinary arts and aviation. To be eligible for UG programmes (such as B.Sc in Hospitality & Hotel Administration or BHMCT, Bachelor in Hotel Management & Catering Technology), a candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) examination from a recognised board.
For PG programmes (such as M.Sc. in Hospitality & Hotel Management or MBA in Hospitality & Hotel Management), a candidate must hold a graduation degree in any stream.
For diploma programmes in hotel operation, food production, bakery/food & beverage service or accommodation operations, the requirement may be having passed Class 10 or Class 12 or graduation in any stream, depending on the offering.
GNIHM JET 2026 -How to Apply?
Applicants can follow these steps to complete the application process:
- Visit the official website of the Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management and navigate to the “Register for JET Entrance Examination-2026” page under the admissions section.
- Choose the mode of application; online registration is available and recommended. For offline mode, an applicant can obtain the application form and prospectus from the institute campus, pay the fee (if applicable), fill the form and submit by hand or post.
- During registration, the applicant will need to fill in personal details (name, date of birth, gender, nationality), academic details (qualifying examination, board/university, marks) and preferred programme(s).
- Upload required documents such as photograph and signature as per specifications.
- Submit the form online or send the filled form (for offline submission) to the institute’s address (157/F, Nilgunj Road, Panihati, Near Sodepur Railway Station, Kolkata-700114) or as per instructions.
- Once submission is complete, applicants will receive their admit card via email ahead of the exam.
- The test will comprise 60 multiple-choice questions and 5 descriptive questions (total marks 120) and will be held in both online (computer-based) and offline (physical test centres) modes.
- The exam covers General Knowledge, General Intelligence and General English. There is no negative marking for wrong answers.
- After clearing the test, candidates will become eligible for admission to the institute’s UG, PG and diploma programmes in hotel management, hospitality administration, culinary arts and aviation management.
