The PhD programme at Nirwan University is offered for 3 to 6 years, a full-time course. For the 2026 admission cycle, the Phd programme will be provided in various subjects: Agronomy, Soil Science, Plant Pathology, Entomology, Agriculture Extension Education, Agriculture Economics, Horticulture, Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, and Mathematics, Hindi, History, Economics, Geography, and Library Science, Political Science, Public Administration, and Education, Physical Education, Law, and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Nursing Sciences, and Physiotherapy.

Admission to the Doctoral programme will be based on an entrance test, Nirwan University Research Entrance Test (NURET ), conducted by the institute, followed by a presentation & discussion, an interview, viva voce, and a merit score certificate. Applicants are required to hold a postgraduate degree with at least 60% marks, while candidates qualified in the entrance test with a UGC-NET (including JRF), CSIR/ ICMR/ GATE scores are exempted from the entrance exam.

NURET Entrance Exam

Nirwan University Research Entrance Test (NURET) is an entrance exam conducted by the Nirvan University itself. It is an entrance test conducted for the PhD program in both English and Hindi, as per the candidates' convenience. The exam is conducted in an MCQ format, and for each correct answer, one mark will be given. There is no negative marking.
