CLAT 2024 Counselling Guidelines for 4th and 5th Round Revised

New Delhi: The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) released an important notification regarding CLAT counselling 2024, stating that the guidelines for the fourth and fifth rounds of CLAT counselling 2024 have been altered.

CLAT 2024 fourth round of counselling is scheduled for May 20, 2024, and the fifth round is scheduled for May 28, 2024.

CLAT 2024 Counselling Guidelines Altered: Highlights

If a candidate chooses the Freeze Option and pays the Confirmation Fee (in the First, Second, Third, or Fourth round), they will not be considered for subsequent rounds of counselling.

To exercise the Float Option in the First, Second, Third, or Fourth round of counselling, the candidate must pay the Confirmation Fee within the specified time in the Admissions Counselling Calendar.

The 'Float' option expires after the Fourth round of counselling and is not available for the Fifth and final round. The last allotted seat is considered final, and candidates must choose to either "Freeze" or "Exit" the Admission Counselling Process.

Changes in Confirmation Fees

An eligible candidate allotted a seat based on their NLU preferences must pay a non-refundable Confirmation Fee of INR. 20,000 (Rupees Twenty thousand only) before selecting a 'Freeze' or 'Float' option in any round of counselling. The Confirmation Fee is payable only once throughout the Admissions and Counselling Process.

If a candidate who has completed the Registration Process and has been allotted a seat does not exercise any of the options listed above within the specified time, they will be considered to be “Not Interested” in the Admission Counselling Process.

If the Exit option is exercised before 1:00 P.M. on May 23, 2024, no deduction is made. If the Exit option is exercised after 1:00 P.M. on May 23, 2024, a deduction of INR 5,000 (Rupees Five thousand only) applies.
