IIM Jammu has started accepting applications for its PhD 2026 programme, and the registration deadline is March 31, 2026.

IIM Jammu has begun the admission process for its PhD Programme 2026, inviting applications for full-time and part-time (for working professionals) categories.
The institute has announced that the last date to apply is March 31, 2026, and the selection stages include shortlisting, personal interviews, and final merit preparation.

Candidates must meet the required academic qualifications, submit valid test scores, and follow all guidelines set by the institute for this year’s intake.
Applicants must fulfil specific academic standards to be considered for the PhD programme at IIM Jammu. Candidates must hold a master’s degree or integrated master’s degree with at least 60% marks, or possess professional qualifications like CA, ICWA, or CS with a minimum of 50% marks.
Those with a four-year bachelor’s degree must have a 6.5 CGPA or equivalent. A 5% relaxation in marks is available for EWS, SC, ST, NC-OBC, and PwD categories. The upper age limit is 40 years as of June 1, 2026, and final-year students may also apply, provided they complete their degree requirements by June 30, 2026.
IIM Jammu will follow the Government of India’s reservation policy, offering 15% seats for SC, 7.5% for ST, 27% for NC-OBC, 10% for EWS, and 5% for PwD candidates.
Selection Process
Candidates are required to provide valid CAT, GMAT, GRE, GATE, or JRF scores taken within the last three years, and the accepted test will depend on the specialization they apply for. Shortlisted applicants will be invited for the interview round in April/May 2026.
Each area accepts specific tests, such as CAT/GMAT/GRE/JRF for Business Policy, Strategy & Entrepreneurship and Marketing, while IT Systems & Analytics and Operations & Supply Chain Management also consider GATE and JRF scores. The cut-offs differ across categories, and IIM Jammu may raise the minimum scores if the number of eligible candidates exceeds the required shortlist.
Selected candidates must pay a commitment fee of ₹50,000, which is adjusted later against the caution deposit and alumni fees. Refund rules apply based on the date of withdrawal mentioned in the offer letter.
