You have held key positions at education institutes throughout your professional career. What keeps you connected with the Education Sector and how has your experience been so far with the institute?

Since I have always been in the teaching profession, my experience is very good in the education sector. Interacting with students is always an experience in and of itself, providing valuable insights into their needs and challenges. We not only teach and train them but also inspire and encourage them to reach their full potential. Witnessing students' growth and development is extremely rewarding, as it affirms the impact of our efforts. Moreover, being in the education sector is a lifelong learning process, enabling me to constantly enhance my skills and knowledge. These are the factors that keep me connected to this ever-evolving field.

Being the DEAN of YOUR INSTITUTE, what are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

My relationship with students is like that of a guardian and friend. I also act as a bridge between the management and the students. As dean, I play a role in creating an atmosphere and an environment that aid in student academic excellence, personal growth, and overall well-being while keeping the university's values and policies in mind. Apart from handling students' grievances, promoting awareness and their continuous improvement are some of the many roles and responsibilities I have.

Do you have any extracurricular activities/ programs to enhance the student's skills or expose them to real-world challenges?

We do have many extracurricular activities or programs to enhance a student’s skills. Apart from academics, we provide computer-based skill training to all. We provide help and training in the skill, which will help the students earn a livelihood. Since I am the dean of education, we provide the skill training as per that. We also help students enhance their entrepreneurial skills and knowledge so that they can start their own business. We organise career development workshops, mentorship programs, arts and cultural activities, sports activities, and much more for the student's overall development.

How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards subjects and make it industry-oriented?

We use a variety of strategies to ensure that our curriculum and courses align with industry standards. The internship programs provide students with valuable hands-on experience in real-world settings. Additionally, we host guest lectures from time to time, allowing students to learn from professionals who are experts in their respective fields. To further support our students, we have developed a mentorship program that provides personalised guidance and insights to enhance their educational journey. Recognising the importance of developing well-rounded skills, we also offer soft skills development programs to equip students with essential skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. In addition, our curriculum includes practical learning, case studies, and other industry-related activities to bridge the gap between theory and practice, ensuring that our subjects are relevant to the industry.

What would you like people to know about your university that they may not know?

Our university is situated in the Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh. It is thanks to our founder and Chancellor, Dr. Sudha Malaiya who set up a university in a backward area like Damoh, that we can provide a learning environment for all and work for the betterment of society. Our university offers a wide range of courses, subjects, and degrees, as well as skill development programs. We have an innovation and entrepreneurship cell. We provide hostel facilities for all and scholarships for underprivileged students. I like people to know that our university is not just a place for learning but a dynamic place that promotes academic excellence, personal development, and a positive societal impact.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

We should strive to uphold our cultural heritage and embrace our core values. Incorporating them into our daily lives allows us to cultivate a sense of identity and foster a strong moral compass. By being actively engaged in various activities and attentively nurturing these values, we contribute to academic excellence and the growth of our moral, cultural, and ethical principles.
