Dr. G Tulja Rani is the Principal at Malla Reddy Pharmacy College and has 20 years of experience in the field of teaching and administration. She is a resourceful person for various AICTE workshops. Her 45 research publications and 54 research paper presentations on national and international orders, stand as testimony to her strengths. She is bent on making this college into one of the most sought-after centers for excellence, through its quality education and research orientation. She is a life member of professional bodies like IPA, APTI, and IPGA. She guided more than 50 M.Pharma projects. Three Research Scholars are pursuing their Ph.D. Programs under her supervision.

What is the latest program that you are offering on campus to help students outperform and stand apart from the crowd?

MRPC offers a Bachelor of Pharmacy, and a Doctor in Pharmacy. We also encourage students to identify and creatively solve real-world challenges. Additionally, our Inter/ Intra Institutional Innovation Competitions, collaborative problem-solving, and innovation under tight deadlines. These programs collectively nurture vital soft skills, hands-on experience, networking, and confidence.


What are the factors that make this program best for the students to opt for?

Our college mainly focuses on experiential learning, innovative teaching methodologies, in-house research activity, project-based learning, hands-on training, industrial visits and training, and hospital training for all courses. The college has well-experienced faculty and offers 100% training and placement assistance for students of B.Pharmacy and Pharm.D. We also encourage them to work in the areas of green technologies, innovations, social entrepreneurship, and areas that make them all-rounders. Our college does not limit the students to academic activities instead it encourages them to participate in Inter College and Intra College Co-Curricular and extra-curricular activities.


What would you say are the “best practices” in the course you’re offering?

Research activities, projects, internships, seminars, conferences, and recruitment training are the best practices we offer in MRPC. Our college has a membership with TASK (Telangana Academic Skill & Knowledge) which provides a platform for the training and placements for the students. The methodical strategy in learning and training the students brings out the best in them. Several practices at our institutions improve the development of collaborative learning, teamwork, and cognitive skills. We are continuously working to improve the concept of Pharma education in today's global era with an aim to serve humanity better.


What are some valuable insights of the program that is offered at your Institute?

We motivate the students to participate in startups, for higher studies Abroad, and simultaneously certificate courses from IITs through NPTEL, Course era. Apart from developing the academic background students are also allowed to inculcate managing skills and teamwork through participating in various technical and non-technical programmes conducted by our college. We encourage the students to participate in Guest lectures, seminars, and conferences, organized by TASK and conducted by various other colleges which give the awareness of the modern Pharmaceutical and Clinical Industry among the students. We also provide training and encourage students to write competitive exams like GPAT, and PGCET.

How does the program ensure that students are being prepared for the future?

MRPC encourages students to think critically, and creatively and solve problems. They operate in a variety of contexts, including hospitals, community, and retail pharmacies, as well as academic, regulatory affairs, Government sectors, and clinical research. Pharmacy is both a product and a service-based sector in which pharmacists engage with patients and physicians of both the public and private sectors.


What are you most proud of in your career so far?

I am most proud of successfully completing my Ph.D. and receiving my award for a Doctoral degree through extreme discipline and dedication. Later on at every step I feel proud and overwhelmed with my students’ success. It’s an extremely proud moment for me to be a part of the Malla Reddy Group of Institutions.


What strategy do you employ for building an efficient work team?

The Strategies that I employ for building efficient teamwork are, considering each employee’s ideas, encouraging team members to share information, establishing team values and goals, and evaluating team performance.


What was the most challenging task that you faced in your career so far, and what did you learn from it?

The most challenging task is to understand students’ psychology, guiding and teaching them the morals and subject, and also scheduling daily tasks, attendance, and discipline. Especially during the Pandemic, conducting online classes and using tools to gauge the progress of our students by conducting exams, quizzes, assignments, seminars, etc.


What do you find most difficult about being a Principal?

A principal is responsible for upholding discipline, regularity, academic progress, and performance of students. Every day, principals struggle to raise student’s achievement on campus and to inspire, motivate, and empower. 


What is your vision of MRPC in the next five years?

Our vision is to strengthen our reputation as a premier institute in Telangana for learning and research that draws the best faculty and students across the state.
