How does the curriculum of the institute ensures the best practice of the industry?

The curriculum at Fostiima Business School has been designed to convey to the students all the requirements, skills, and knowledge that they would need while actually working in the industry. This is important because we believe that management education is not just theoretical education; it's not an education like the sciences, arts, or economics. Management education is effective and useful to a student only if it conveys to them what they would like to do in the industry after graduation. So our curriculum is designed to be practical rather than theoretical.

What do you think should be the University’s top priority over the next 10 years?

The top priority of the institute would remain unchanged, which is to bring to the students of the institute all that is relevant. We also want them to be able to use all they learned working in the industry so that the decisions that they take and the actions that they undertake in the final job are the best decisions, backed up by management principles. This should be our goal for the next ten years.

How does the curriculum of your institute ensure the best practice of industry?

The best skills that have been required by the industry over the years will continue to be conveyed to the students. At the same time, the requirements of the industry and the business environment are changing rapidly every year and hence it is important that the curriculum of the institute keep pace. All the latest trends in the industry must be included in the curriculum. At Fostiima Business School, we make all the changes in the curriculum and the syllabus so that this requirement is met.

What would you like people to know about your university they may not know?

It is likely that people who are not really involved with education management and the education industry may not be aware that, in keeping with our objectives of teaching practical management, we ensure that our faculty for management subjects are the best. They are from the best institutes and it's a requirement that they have experience in the industry. We have faculty in Fostiima who have worked in the industry for between 40 and 50 years. Some of our teachers are retirees and have a lifetime of experience and knowledge.

What do you see as the university’s greatest strength?

The greatest strengths of Fostiima Business School are its curriculum, which is contemporary and practical in nature. The faculty of the institute are people who have actually done in the industry, in the world, what they have later come to teach and that ensures optimum delivery of the curriculum. Furthermore, the delivery of the management subjects is practical because only practical management education is the need of the hour for students to go out and work in their jobs. This will help them rise in their careers. 

Are there any placement opportunities for the students?

All the students at Fostiima receive secure, excellent placements. The corporations that have recruited Fostiima students in the earlier years find that they are industry-ready, conscientious, and good at what they are called upon to do. It is for this reason that the same corporations keep coming back to the college to recruit our new pass-outs. The reputation of our students has spread in the industry and that has attracted many more renowned recruiters to come during our placements.

Any suggestions/messages that you would like to give to the current student youth?

I strongly suggest and recommend that all students of management not look upon management education as just a means to earn a degree. They should also pay attention and go through the curriculum, and the subjects from the point of view of what they can gain from the course. Try to understand how it will help them in their jobs and in their careers, keeping in mind your passions and goals.
