Sunil Kala is the Chairman of Placements at Fostiima Business School. He has done his graduation in Engineering from Malviya National Institute Of Technology, Jaipur in the year 1971 and MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad in the year 1973. He was admitted as a Member of the Delhi Stock Exchange in 1990 under the professional membership category and worked as an active member. He is actively involved in alumni activities of the Pan IIM Alumni Association, IIM Ahmedabad Alumni Association - Delhi Chapter and MNIT (Jaipur) Alumni Association and was amongst the founders of the Pan llM Alumni Association.

Being the chairman of Training and Placement, what are your roles and responsibilities?

I am a Founder Trustee of FOSTIIMA and Chairman of Placements. I take the responsibility of providing meaningful internships for our 1st-year students and their final Placements. As a dedicated member of the FOSTIIMA team, I also actively engage with students to understand their career aspirations and guide them toward achieving their goals.


How do you train students for placements at FOSTIIMA Business School?

At FOSTIIMA, we put a lot of emphasis on soft skills and overall development of personality, separate classes are held for these. This is in addition to the subject teaching by our elite faculty. Our holistic approach to education ensures that our students not only excel academically but also develop the essential skills needed to thrive in the professional world.


What strategy do you use to create strong relationships with companies and employers?

We do our best to impart the required skills to the students for different profiles. Our efforts in cultivating strong relationships with companies and employers involve continuous collaboration and feedback, ensuring that our students are aligned with industry demands and well-prepared to contribute effectively to their future workplaces.

How do you ensure that the students are well-prepared with the necessary skills and knowledge to meet the expectations of employers?

A thorough analysis of the required skill set for each job is done by the Placements and special sessions are conducted by the Faculty to impart these to the students. Our commitment to student readiness includes tailored skill development sessions that bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical skills, empowering students to meet and exceed the expectations of prospective employers.


What do you think of placements in FOSTIIMA in the coming year?

FOSTIIMA students are doing very well in the companies where they join, these hardworking resilient students are making FOSTIIMA a preferred campus for recruitment. This has resulted in ensuring that all our students get at least one job each and some students get multiple. Looking ahead, we are optimistic about the continued success of our students in securing rewarding placements, and we remain committed to their professional growth and success.


What are the greatest strengths of FOSTIIMA?

Most of the faculty of FOSTIIMA is from IIMs and IITs, this ensures students get to learn from the best possible teachers, this is the greatest strength of FOSTIIMA.
