Dr. Manisha Joshi is the Dean of the BBA programme and the Director of Purposeful Work at IILM University. She is a student focused individual with over 14 years of experience in the education sector. Dr. Joshi holds a PhD and an M.Phil. degree in Mathematics with expertise in Fuzzy Optimization Models in Uncertain Environment. Her areas of interest are Operations Research, Non-linear Dynamics, Chaos theory, Numerical Analysis, Mathematical tools in Business and Economics, Research Methodology and Statistical Methods. Dr. Manisha has presented her research work at many international and national conferences and has published it in peer reviewed journals with a good impact factor.

You have held key positions at education institutes throughout your professional career. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

Holding key positions in the education sector requires a combination of skills, qualities, and experience. The education sector is dynamic. Adapting to new technologies and understanding educational principles and pedagogy are vital. Additionally, upskilling and re-skilling according to current trends in education can only make a career in the education sector a powerful conduit for personal fulfilment and student empowerment. As an educator, I always have the privilege of nurturing young minds, imparting knowledge, and instilling valuable life skills. Witnessing students' growth and success is immensely satisfying. For me, the profession fosters a sense of purpose, contributing to the betterment of society. Also, continuous learning, being a core tenet of education, helps me stay intellectually engaged. Building meaningful relationships with students and colleagues adds to the sense of achievement. Ultimately, the education sector offers a platform for self-realization and student enrichment, making it a rewarding vocation.


What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

As a leader, I have always tried to create a supportive and inclusive environment emphasising both personal growth and academic excellence. As effective leadership skills are paramount in the education sector, my collaborative skills have helped me in my personal and professional growth, fostering synergy and innovation in every endeavour. It has also helped me to guide teams, make strategic decisions, drive institutional improvement, and build excellent communication skills. Effective leadership in education not only impacts the success of the institution but also has a profound influence on the development and future of students.


What would you like people to know about your university they may not know?
