Dr. Gauri Singh Gaur is presently working as the Director of the College of Management Studies, Kanpur. She has been previously associated with Jagran College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Kanpur, and Axis Colleges, Kanpur as a professor. She has over 11 years of experience in the education sector. She has completed her Ph.D. She completed her B.Com and M.Com from Kanpur University.

What keeps you connected to the education sector?

My enduring connection with the education sector stems from my profound belief in nurturing students' overall growth. It's also a dynamic field where I can stay abreast of technological advancements. The mutual respect between students and educators in this noble profession has been a driving force for me. What attracted me initially were its nobility and the potential to enact positive change. Witnessing students find success and create opportunities for others fills me with immense satisfaction.

What's your philosophy on leadership?

In my view, leadership is about being strategic, inspiring, and motivating. Building teamwork is fundamental. A leader should inspire collaboration and encourage each team member to excel. They should maintain balance within the organization, bridging various departments. Leading by example is crucial; a true leader actively participates in tasks alongside the team, rather than just giving orders.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the university and the students are?

My primary role is to align the organization with its vision and create an environment conducive to faculty and student growth. I'm responsible for motivating both parties to engage in research and innovation, contributing to institutional growth and student development.

Our curriculum, in line with AKTU standards, is carefully crafted to meet industry benchmarks. We foster industry best practices through partnerships, including student industry visits, expert lectures, and training programs. These initiatives provide practical experience aligned with current industry standards, overseen by our dedicated Industry-Institute Cell.
