Dr. S. Lavanya is an Assistant Professor and the Head of the Department of Computer Science at the Sri Ranganathar Institute of Engineering and Technology. She holds a B.Tech. in Information Technology, an M.Tech. in Information System Management, an MBA along with a PhD degree as well. Over the course of her career, she has guided over 45 postgraduate projects and 20 undergraduate projects.

Dr. Lavanya has organised 16 workshops and faculty development programs. Moreover, she has participated in 12 workshops and summer and winter schools. Her papers have been presented at 17 international conferences and 20 have been published in reputed international and national journals.

What is the latest program that you are offering in your institute/dept. which will help students outperform and stand apart from the crowd?

We help students enhance their skills and expertise in their respective fields. Apart from courses, we recently organised hands-on training on real-time application development in Figma UI/UX. Bootcamps are also conducted to gain expertise from an industrial point of view. All of these help our program stand out from other programs that add significant value to our students.

By completing this program, students are able to learn the tools they need to work in their fields. They learn the essential skills to get selected for jobs and stand out from the competition. In Computer Science and Engineering, our course emphasises several best practices to ensure comprehensive learning and skill development. I enjoy the fact that, as a teacher, I get to teach and shape students to become upstanding citizens. I help them know who they are, what their skills are and how they can contribute to society. I am motivated to teach students and share my knowledge.
