Mrs. Reemy Sara Mathai is the HOD of Zoology at Mar Thoma College for Women. She is a distinguished academic with over 10 years of teaching experience. In addition to her role as HoD, she is a member of the Board of Studies (UG Board) at Mahatma Gandhi University, contributing to the academic development and curriculum design at the university level.
Mrs. Reemy has completed her Bachelor's degree in Zoology from St. Peter's College, Kolenchery, Ernakulam, and a Master's degree in General and Applied Zoology from the Kerala University Campus, Kariavattom, Trivandrum. She was also an INSPIRE fellow, a prestigious award given to first-rank holders in the university. Her Expertise lies in the fields of ecotoxicology and behavioral biology. She has significantly contributed to her field, with 10 articles published in reputed journals. As an active researcher, she is currently engaged in cutting-edge research in her areas of expertise.
Mrs. Reemy was Honored with the Best Paper Presentation Award at the International Conference hosted by Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth in August 2024. She has delivered several presentations, further showcasing her dedication to advancing knowledge in her field.

One of the main challenges faced was the standardization of the practical elements. It required meticulous planning, preparation, and resource allocation too. Balancing those factors with academic rigor was essential for supplying students with comprehensive and impactful learning.

What made you decide to become a teacher?
I chose to become a teacher to motivate others and help them evolve.
