Dr. Sunil Rawat is the Director of Dr. MC Saxena Group of Colleges. An academician with over 15 years of experience, he has also worked in project development and software handling. Besides his present employment, he has worked as Assistant Professor at Rameshwaram Group of Institutions, Himalaya Group of Institutions, R.R. Institute of Modern Technology, Bansal Institute of Engineering and Technology and B.S.S. Institute of Technology and Management. Dr. Rawat holds an M.Tech. degree in CSE along with an M.Sc. in Information Science and a B.Tech. in CSE. He has also published a paper on NLP focusing on supporting tools for semantic web.

You have held key positions at education institutes throughout your professional career. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

Being associated with this profession for such a long period, the motivation to keep working comes from inside. Watching my students grow in their lives gives me immense pleasure and makes me feel that I have contributed positively towards society. I feel that I have done justice to the knowledge I have acquired by imparting it to my students. 

Being the Director Dr. MC Saxena Group Of Colleges What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style? 

Coming from the initial phase of my professional career, I feel that a person at my level will always be connected with both the teaching staff and other members who ensure that the institution is running smoothly. I work to ensure that people can connect with me at every level and have the freedom to approach me. I want them to feel comfortable sharing things with me for the betterment of the students and the organisation. This is how I lead my stakeholders.

Being the Director Dr. MC Saxena Group Of Colleges, how do you strategize about the key programs and plans for the marketing and administration of your school?

We have been imparting the best in ethical education for a long time, and we have been receiving results for it. Our students are getting placed with prestigious organisations. Through our various research programs, they receive practical learning. Our association with various companies ensures that their current organisational needs are communicated to the students so that they become industry-ready. My strategy regarding my organisation’s marketing I concentrate upon the above points to create a positive vibe about the institution. There are always complications, but I try and tackle it always in a positive way which shall always be for the betterment of my students and organisation.

The education systems in India and other foreign countries are structured very differently. In your experience, what can an inbound student gain from studying here in your Dr. M.C. Saxena Group Of Colleges?

Though Indian education is quite different, I have received feedback from past students that the foreign education system is better than ours. However, many of the global big education giants are headed by mostly Indians who have gone through the same education system. With the new education policy coming in, I do not think that there is any need to do anything different on our end. Students can receive the best of international education in our country.

How does the curriculum of Dr. M.C. Saxena Group Of Colleges ensure the best practice of industry?

We ensure we are providing an ethical, practical and industry based education in parallel with the standards set by AKTU. This gives our students the best environment to excel. There are opportunities for the students to practice their classroom knowledge and learn what the industry needs in terms of skills through internships and industry interaction sessions.

Any insights into how your college could be more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

We would like to show how welcoming we are to the public with this platform. We have been giving scholarships to the students who excel in their studies towards this end. They can be from any race or background, and we do not have any kind of differentiation with them. We also ensure education shall rightfully reach every strata of society regardless of how the student is and what their background is.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the College and the students are? 

Our college is responsible for imparting education, and discipline, teaching a better way of life and inculcating a sense of contributing towards society in our students. We want to motivate and push our students to excel in whatever they want to. We want to give them the platform to work on their skills and try to excel in that particular field. We wish to contribute towards a better environment in the college and society at large.

What do you think should be the College top priority over the next 10 years?

We are currently trying to keep pace with new things coming in the industry, like AI. India, being a developing economy, needs more people in pharma. We also need engineers and able students working in various fields. We are primarily concentrating on imbibing relevant information and skills in our students through our organisation that will help them contribute towards the positive development of society. That is what we will be concentrating on for the next decade.
