What do you think should be the University’s top priority be in the next 10 years?

In the next ten years, the university needs to focus on all-around development and earning the top NAAC accreditation. We need to fulfil adaptation of NEP 2020 in the curriculum as well as all other related matters. The seed grants need to be generated for the promotion of research so that it can strengthen and enhance the national and global ranking of the university.

We also need to have separate well-functional cells for placements, student outreach and alumni connect. It is also a priority to have a proper policy towards recruitment and increment based on qualification, experience, and work carried out. There are also plans to have a complete overhaul of the infrastructure on the campus.

When you first came to the APGSU University, what was your vision for the institute? Has it evolved over time, how far along in implementing that vision are you?

When I first joined APGSU, our vision was to make the name of the university renowned internationally. Over time, our goal has evolved to have a diverse student strength at our campus at present coming from all Indian states and countries of the world. We also need to have more new relevant and advance courses that engage the interest of the students so that they get maximum exposure.

What would you like people to know about your University that they may not know?

APGS University has been the epitome of promoting unity in diversity. We have students from various ethnic and cultural backgrounds studying here. There is a great scope for inter-culture amalgamation as students celebrate different cultural events throughout the year. The university could be a great centre of excellence and become a hub for the development of international culture. We have students from all over the world and are proud to promote a multi-culture environment by conducting cultural events to keep them connected with the local culture.

What do you see as APG’s greatest strength?

APGSU’s strengths lie in the well-established system and sound infrastructure for the all-around growth of the students. Our team of faculty is highly qualified, innovative, experienced and committed to providing a holistic education to the students. Our student body is diverse and there are students from numerous countries studying here. We are also proud of our well-maintained beautiful campus. What are the biggest challenges you see both for higher education in general and APG specifically?

Currently, the biggest challenge we are facing is the adaptation of NEP 2020 in our course curriculum and allied matters. We are also in the process of signing MOUs with skill-based industries to train our students. It is also quite a struggle to draw students towards our new course offerings. Additionally, we are preparing to adapt the latest technologies into our courses and teaching methodologies.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and aspiring students?

I would like to advise my students to have a clear perspective and to never lose sight of the big picture. Be consistent, and keep in mind that you don’t always have to work hard on any given problem. Cultivate the ability to work smart and come up with efficient solutions.

Focus on networking and work your way to overcome stage fright. Take advantage of the learning opportunities given to you and actively participate in all events even if you may feel that it might not be your cup of tea. One can never know what opportunities and hidden talents they end up finding. Work on the all-round development of mind, body, and soul.

What are some plans that you are currently designing for APGS, international affairs, and or students?

We are in the process of implementing several scholarship plans and awards for our meticulous students. We are also planning an annual sports meet to recognize and celebrate talent while ensuring they get maximum support and some financial help along the way too. The university is developing an eco-park area that will have adventure sports.

How do you tend to establish a healthy relationship and environment in your institute/university?

We strive to build a healthy and friendly atmosphere on our campus by having activities that rely on the cooperation of all stakeholders. Everyone’s opinions, feedback and suggestions are regularly taken for any issue. We try to always be present for our students. We are also actively trying to seek out relevant MOUs in different academic fields.
