Mr. Narendra Singh Sirola is currently serving as the Faculty and Head - Centre for Corporate and Private Security Studies; School of Private, Industrial and Corporate Security Management of Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) since July 2021. Earlier, he also headed the Centre for Border Management and Intelligence Studies of RRU.
He has over 37 years of diversified experience in the domain of Intelligence; Vigilance; Corporate and Industrial Security; Maritime and Port Security; K9 Management; Safety; ISO Audits; Personnel & Administration; Labour Welfare and now in the Academics.
He has also worked with various organizations including the Intelligence Bureau (Govt of India), Public Undertakings and Corporate sectors viz; Birla Group, PSUs like UP State Spinning Mill and Gujarat Industries Power Co. Ltd, Corporates - Essar Group, Adani Group, Peo-Pal Solutions, Tagros Chemicals, etc. before joining Rashtriya Raksha University.
He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Labour Laws, Labour Welfare & Personnel Management and a Postgraduate Degree in Public Administration from Rajasthan University, Jaipur.
Apart from other academic and training activities, he has also raised a K9 Squad (Dog Squad) in Rashtriya Raksha University and a course coordinator and Faculty for Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Safety and Security.
He has also represented Rashtriya Raksha University as an academia in National Webinar (Conference) on “Capacity Building on Private Security Agencies for an effective complementary security role in industrial security” organized by Intelligence Bureau, MHA, Govt of India in 2022.

The Rashtriya Raksha University is destined to grow as a model security educational University in India. What are the best practices offered by your department to the students and security professionals which help them gain necessary skills?
The Centre for Corporate and Private Security Studies under the aegis of School of Private, Industrial and Corporate Security Management of Rashtriya Raksha University has a vision of providing the knowledge and skills pertaining to private and corporate security management by interacting with the private security managers, corporate security professionals, institutions, business leaders, think tanks etc. for innovative research, education, training, extension and consultancy. The aim of the Centre and School is to implant a sense of respectability and dignity to the profession of private and corporate security in India by becoming a Center of excellence in teaching, research, training and providing new ideas in the areas of Private and Corporate Security domain. The Centre and School is playing an important role for the students by offering a one year Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Safety and Security for the students aspiring their career in private and corporate security. We are also organising a number of certificate courses from time to time in private and corporate security management for the benefit of the society from all sectors – students, scholars, working security professionals, etc.
What are the interventions and approaches you bring in apart from curriculum to train/teach the students and professionals?
We are also collaborating with many private security institutions, corporations, industries, and leading national and international community and government organisations to evolve policy guidelines by organising seminars, workshops, round tables, symposiums, training programs, and various capacity-building programs for skilling, upskilling, and reskilling students, youths aspiring for security jobs, corporate security professionals, veterans, and serving personnel from armed forces and paramilitary forces.
Do you have any extracurricular activities/ programs to enhance the skills of the students or expose them to real world challenges?
The students are exposed to fieldwork, industrial visits, long-term internships with corporations, industries, security technology companies, etc. In addition, seminars, workshops, special lectures, and regular interaction with practitioners from all domains of private and corporate security are facilitated by the centre and School. An apt physical fitness education, which includes all the fitness components such as endurance, strength, speed, agility, coordination, balance, reaction, and flexibility, as well as a variety of skills such as marching, sports skills, and many more, is provided to the students. We have also raised a dog squad (K9 Squad) in RRU with foreign and country breeds. The students and local youths are allowed for hands-on training in K9 management, also known as Pool of Dog Handlers Training, education on using dog skills in security, and how to handle and upkeep the dogs and kennel. The local youths, after imparting training to the pool of Dog handlers, are also employed by us as Dog Handlers in the RRU K9 Squad.
Moreover, The University National Cadet Corps (NCC) unit is devoted to training the cadets so that they become responsible citizens of the country. RRU has three battalions: 1 Gujarat Girls Battalion, 1 Gujarat Arty Bty, and 1 Gujarat Naval Unit.

The University has ten different schools and various study centres. The mission of the University is to identify, prepare, and sustain the statecraft of national strategic and security culture through continuous enhancement and development of educational, research, and training cadres from security, police, and civilian sectors.

Aspiring youth and students looking to pursue a career in Industrial and Corporate Security Management have a range of opportunities in various sectors. With the increasing focus on security and risk management in today's business world, security professionals in this field are in demand to protect assets, personnel, brands, and sensitive information of organisations and corporations. The Private and Corporate Security domains are one of the fastest-growing sectors after agriculture, employing more than 10 million people, including youths and veterans, in the country.
The Center and the School provide various certification programs for skilling, upskilling, and reskilling students, youths, and veterans for exploring employment opportunities in the private and corporate security sectors. The centre and school of the university offer many academic and certificate courses to provide better job opportunities to the students and private security personnel attending the courses. We are also promoting academia-corporate partnerships for cooperation in research, policy development, and respectability and dignity in the profession of private and corporate security in India.
