When you first came to Suddhananda Group of Institutions, what was your vision for the college? Has it evolved over time, and how far along in implementing that vision are you?
As the Dean of the Suddhananda Group of Institutions, I aim to develop a stimulating and dynamic learning environment that develops the potential of students. I want to foster a culture of academic excellence, innovation, and research in all disciplines. I want to create well-rounded people who have the knowledge, abilities, and moral principles needed to excel in their chosen careers and make a real difference in society. My objective is to make sure that our institutions become centres of excellence in education in preparing students to face the challenges of a rapidly changing world through collaboration, cutting-edge facilities, and partnerships with the industry.
You have held key positions at education institutes throughout your professional career. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?
I've worked as the administrative administrator of this organisation for the past 33 years. As an academic, I enjoy stating that the education being provided at our institute and the educational standards we maintain are evolving. As a result of quicker communication and the use of advanced communication methods, we are able to facilitate this change. Communication has made us unstoppable. Accordingly, we match the rapid development and the advancement of society in science and technology to our students. Being able to make these changes and seeing my students’ lives change keeps me connected to this field.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the University and the students are?
In my capacity as an institution's dean, my main obligations to the college and its students are to lead with vision, support academic excellence, and create a welcoming environment for learning. In addition to facilitating faculty development, engaging in strategic planning, and working with stakeholders, I must make sure that policies and procedures are followed. I also need to support extracurricular activities and chances for personal development, speak up for students' needs, and improve their overall educational experience.
The education systems in India and other foreign countries are structured very differently. In your experience, what can an inbound student gain from studying here in your college?
As a linear college, we frequently invite experts from outside the state, including those from New Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai. This is a type of exchange of experts in cultural education, technology, and science that our students benefit from more than when we invite experts from within the state. Our range of extracurricular activities, placement support and guidance from a team of expert faculty also keeps us apart from the competition. Inbound students will also find a regularly updated and in-trend curriculum.
What do you think should be the college’s top priority over the next 10 years?
As the institute’s Dean, I think that encouraging innovation and interdisciplinary cooperation should be our college's top priority over the next ten years. We should put our efforts into creating a climate that supports interdisciplinary research, entrepreneurship, and innovative problem-solving. We must equip our students for the challenges of a rapidly changing world and enable them to make significant contributions to society by encouraging cross-disciplinary initiatives and providing resources for cutting-edge research. This strategy will strengthen our reputation as a forward-thinking organisation and guarantee that our graduates are prepared for the future job market.

Any insights into how your university could be more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?
We are admitting students from all backgrounds with the potential to change and upend the state. Regardless of their financial situation, students are drawn to our college environment because of the privileges and opportunities that can avail here. They could be wealthy or poor it makes no difference. Universities can prioritise diversity and inclusion initiatives, provide scholarships and financial aid, and promote cultural awareness and understanding to create a more welcoming environment for students from different racial or socioeconomic backgrounds.
