Dr. Sharat Sharma is the head of the Department of Operations at GL Bajaj Institute of Management and Research. He has a total experience of 29 years in academics, research, and corporate. His areas of interest are Quantitative Techniques, Financial Management, MIS, Research Methodology, and Statistical Research in the Equity Market. Three candidates have been awarded Ph.D. Degree under his supervision. He has published many research papers in SCOPUS-indexed journals. He has also co-authored books in the area of statistics for Management Studies. Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for the latest trends in Statistical Analysis.

Being a Head of your Department, what are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

We focus on developing curricula and delivering course material in line with industry-academic needs, publishing research, attending conferences, delivering presentations, networking with others in the field, Participation in academic and administrative committees, Providing training and mentoring to teaching assistants, Reviewing methods and teaching materials and making recommendations for improvement.
