CA Sakshi Verma is the Head of the Placement and Alumni Cell of the UG campus at the Prestige Institute of Management and Research. With 11 years of experience in the industry and five years in academia, she has been associated with the Prestige Institute of Management and Research since 2021. CA Verma has dedicated five years as a counsel for the Hon’ble ITAT Indore Bench and as a Statutory Auditor for several Government and semi-government organizations. She has experience in numerous competitive examinations and has served as a UPSC mentor as well. CA Sakshi is a member of the Arbitrators of ICAI.

What are the factors which keeps you connected with the education factor and how has your experience been so far with this institute?

I have been at PIMR for two and a half years but my experience in academia spans more than ten years. I also have approximately seven years of corporate experience. The main reason for transitioning from corporate to education was the belief that being a good teacher, and a good mentor, can change the lives of hundreds of students. It's something that contributes to the nation-building process. It's the only thing that contributes, so it was the driving force behind entering this industry. 

What are your roles and responsibilities in this institute? 

I serve as an assistant professor in the Department of Finance at Prestige Institute of Management & Research. Professionally, I am a Chartered Accountant, and my core interests and expertise lie in finance-related subjects. I teach courses for B.Com., BBA, and BFT programs. Additionally, I hold additional responsibilities as the head of the placement cell and alumni cell for the UG campus. Moreover, I oversee the certification program for ACCA, the Global Chartered Accountancy course, and serve as the coordinator for the second year of the same program.

How does the curriculum of your institute ensure best practices?

The institute's curriculum aligns completely with the new National Education Policy. Additionally, we offer numerous certificates in various fields such as finance, marketing, analytics, data science, and languages. Students can pursue certificates in popular tools like Power BI and research software. We also offer language certificates in German, French, and English, which can aid students in their preparations for studying abroad. Furthermore, we provide dual degree programs where students can pursue a B.Com. degree and receive professional guidance for courses like Chartered Accountancy, Company Secretaryship, and the ACCA course.

What are the growth opportunities available for students in this institute? 

When considering growth opportunities for students at this institute, one might expect placement opportunities to be primarily for PG students. However, the UG campus of PIMR has its dedicated placement cell, offering 100% placement opportunities, not just with national companies but also with international ones. This year we facilitated approximately ten international placements, with packages ranging up to INR 21 lakhs. In addition to placements, we provide certification courses and professional guidance. One of the most significant aspects is our collaborations and MOUs with various international universities such as Brandeis, Loughborough, and ISAC. Through these partnerships, our students receive dual alumni status, both at PIMR and these prestigious universities. We also offer financial assistance, and since students are part of these dual programs and MOUs, they receive admission at reduced prices, further aiding their pursuit of foreign education.

What is the top priority of this institute in the upcoming years?

The top priority for PIMR has always been quality education. Our focus is on providing education that meets international standards and enhancing the skill set of our students. We understand that in this era, a strong skill set is crucial for securing placements or any opportunities in business areas. Additionally, we have an AIC (Atal Incubation Centre) where we assist our students in incubating their start-ups. Our AIC provides comprehensive support to start-ups, including financial assistance, marketing support, and research facilities. Whatever assistance they require, whether it's financial, marketing, or research-related, our students receive complete incubation support at the AIC.
