Dr. B. V. Ramana is the Vice Principal of Avanthi’s St. Theressa Institute of Engineering and Technology. With a B.Tech. From GMRIT, he also has an M.Tech. from JNTU and a PhD from Anantapur. He has 19 years of experience and has published 27 papers in reputed international and national journals in his area of expertise. Dr. Ramana has also attended two conferences.

You have held key positions at education institutes throughout your professional career. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

I have almost 19 years of experience in the teaching field. I’m very much connected with the educational field because there is satisfaction in being in the position of Guru. A Guru can make their student change with good behaviour and attitude, and then the student can go on a good path. That is the reason I’m connected to the education sector.

Being the Vice Principal of Avanthi’s St. Theressa Institute of Engineering and Technology, what is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

In my opinion, I never felt that leadership was a position or a matter of pride for me. I think that leadership is a big responsibility because only when the leader is perfect will the team be perfect. My style of leadership is that I try to thoroughly understand the situation or a problem and try to solve the problem with my team. A leader should guide his team and work along with them.

How does the curriculum of Avanthi’s St. Theressa Institute of Engineering and Technology ensure the best practice of the industry?

We strictly follow the curriculum of JNTU Vizianagaram, and we are affiliated with JNTU Vizianagaram. The curriculum given by the JNTUV contains every factor based on the career of the student. Students can also learn the knowledge easily and in a periodic manner.

Any insights into how your College could be more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

In Avanti’s St. Theressa Institute of Engineering and Technology, there are no differences we show. Our college is located in a rural area so we concentrate on helping the students of rural areas grow. We always welcome students of all races and backgrounds. We also provide scholarships, with the help of our government, to help students pay their tuition fees.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the University and the students are?

I need to mention that I’m not only Vice Principal of Avanti’s St. Theressa Institute of Engineering and Technology but I am also working in the position of HOD of the EEE department. I need to take care of both the positions of Vice Principal and HOD EEE. By handling these two roles, I’m so happy.

What do you see as Avanti’s St. Theressa Institute of Engineering and Technology’s greatest strengths?

In Avanti’s St. Theressa Institute of Engineering and Technology, the students are our main strength. Our students have many achievements in all categories and the faculty we have is one of the best strengths of our college and the management is the biggest strength of our college.
