Sri Sivani College of Engineering

What are the factors that make this program the best for the students to opt for?

EEE is one of the unique subjects where this subject has several opportunities in the current society. After completing a B.Tech. in EEE, students will have numerous career paths they can choose from according to their interests and skills. Everyone says it's difficult to survive after completing this course but there will always be a need for engineers.

What are the best practices in the program you are doing?

As the HOD of EEE at Sri Sivani College of Engineering, I’ll focus on the student's career. Along with my team members, I make sure the students are industry-ready. Additionally, we prepare students and teach them how to crack placements by giving training in communication and practical knowledge rather than theoretical knowledge. In our college, we focus not on results but on what the student gains.

How do you tend to build an industry connection with the program?

Nowadays, the industry requires people or employees who are experienced rather than freshers who do not have any work experience. So, we focus on giving our graduating students work experience. We send them for industry visits and make them observe how the industries work and what they do in the industries. We also make students attend seminars, conferences and workshops to interact with professionals and experts, which will be helpful for their careers.

What were the challenges that you faced while inculcating this program in your curriculum?

The biggest challenge is that after completing the course, there are fewer jobs compared to the number of students graduating. Many of our students remain jobless as there are fewer opportunities in our current society. Students get confused about what to do after completing their course. The time won’t be the same all the time; there will be big changes that may occur. Everyone will get a job in the coming days.

What do you think are your roles and responsibilities?

I’m working as Head of the Department of EEE and my responsibilities are to focus on student goals and make them future-ready. I also need to work on whether things are going well or not and whether there are any changes that need to be made in the process for good results. Overall, my jobs are academic related with administration and management related responsibilities as well.

How does the program ensure that students are being prepared for the future?

EEE students will have several opportunities. They may get placement or they may become entrepreneurs. Many of our students are opting for higher education or they can do well in any field they want to do. The options are endless, depending on what the individual's career goals are.
