Being the HOD of BVC Engineering College what is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

Leadership philosophy should be idealistic and it should serve the purpose of any objective in a good manner. As the HOD of the MBA Department at BVC Engineering College, I strongly believe that organisational improvement and development depend upon the achievements of individuals working in the organisation. The achievement of individuals depends upon proper workmanship, directed through a good work mechanism by ensuring harmony among the individuals working in the organisation. All these things can happen when we direct people properly according to their assigned responsibilities with a good style of functioning. This I ensure through a democratisation style along with a slight escalation to benevolent autocracy depending upon the situation and need.

The education systems in India and other foreign countries are structured very differently. In your experience, what can an inbound student gain from studying here in your institute?

Advanced foreign country educational institutions use applied methods of orientation and practical knowledge transformation. In our nation, with the changes brought about by the national education policy, many changes are being brought in keeping with the global factors and challenges in education in our nation and educational institutions in view. We have incorporated various changes in the areas of academics, research and consultancy. A lot of priority is being given to bridging the skill gap between academics and the real-time required job skills. To make the students industry ready we are arranging CRT and other job-related training on par with academics and co–curricular activities. With the newly adapted pedagogical and gap-bridging initiatives, we can make the in-bound students job-ready both at national and global levels.

How does the curriculum of BVC Engineering College ensure the best practice of industry?

Our curriculum is structured, covering all the required aspects of the industry from multi-dimensional aspects. The most compact and well-spread syllabus in all subjects allows us to conduct the teaching and learning activities in a brisk manner. Good access to labs and a library with specially earmarked slots of the faculty to clear off the doubts or to take up the remedial classes and letting the pupils work on projects, research and consultancy will definitely imbibe the knowledge and make the students come out with great versatility in their approach. They will also help with adaptability in their initiations and will empower students to be self-reliant with a good sense of self-confidence.

What do you think should be the institute's top priority over the next 5 years?

B.V.C. Institute of Technology and Science is an autonomous college. It’s overall functioning and services are well-designed and prioritized. The pedagogy management systems are taken up on a promising track to address the needs that suit industry needs. Students are stimulated to go with autonomy in their approach with self-reliance and self-confidence. Support structures, in addition to curriculum and co-curriculum have been created to address the needs of all individuals according to their respective interests and destinations. We intend to be a part of their approach to their respective careers, research, consultancy and other allied services. We want to be given priority and facilitate the process of taking the present shape of the BVCITS campus as a university campus.

What do you see as your institute's greatest strengths?

The environment is the key for any organisation to achieve productive results. BVCITS is in the lap of nature, with pleasant surroundings and a lush green campus spread across 26 acres. Referring to the infrastructure, the college has state of art infrastructure built with good facilities and ambience, with more than the required carpet area and good ventilation, ensuring natural humidification. Our library, labs, e-classrooms, and lecture halls are well-designed and equipped with all the necessary apparatus to ensure qualitative improvements of the pedagogy. Moreover, we have sports, gymnasiums, and games that are also well-prioritized and arranged. All these ensure a good learning culture among the students to excel through voluntary initiation with the support of the staff.

What would you like people to know about your college they may not know?

If end users know the value of products and services, they can be ambassadors for the growth of the organization. If we can ensure their support in the form of support, we can ensure the growth of the pupils in coordination with institutional growth. It will be more and more fruitful if it results in the growth of the students as well as the organization’s reputation. We have to periodically let people know about our mechanism, processes, progression and results of better placements. To achieve this target, we keep informing and counselling the parents about functional and process-related aspects and their impact on students' growth. The proactive support of the parents will result in a good way to productively groom the students so as to ensure a better launch of their job careers according to their academic abilities and related skill competencies.

Any message you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

Every student must have their own vision according to their wider expectations and must build the mission step by step and these phased missions shall be capable enough to achieve the desired results in the study pursuance and allied knowledge comprehension of the pupils. Every student must be enabled to think with autonomy without depending on stereotypes. They must chart new paths and travel on them with confidence in realising their predetermined goals. The students must be groomed in such a way that they will always possess the right skills and be enthusiastic about crossing the milestones in their journey to success.
