Dr. Peyyela Rayudu is a Professor at Anantha Lakshmi Institute of Technology and Sciences. He has 13 years of academic experience and 16 years of industrial experience. He has published three Textbooks and 16 Indexed journal publications. He is an expert in writing techno commercial Project proposals – EPC projects related to waste heat recovery systems and boilers. He has delivered many Invited talks at various Industries and engineering Institutions. He has taught subjects like Industrial Engineering, Project Management, Total quality management, Entrepreneurship, Thermodynamics, Applied Thermodynamics, Power plant engineering, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning, Engineering Drawing, Internet of things, Universal Human values, Design thinking and product innovation etc. He is an expert in Advanced pedagogies like SCALEUP (Student-centered academic learning environment with upside-down pedagogies), PBL (Project-based learning), TPS ( Think Pair Share ), and Flip Class methods for better teaching-learning. He has guided many Innovative projects like Agricultural implements and go bikes, e-bikes, etc.

What inspired you to pursue a career in higher education administration? And what do you do in your current role as a deal?

I have an exposure of 16 years of Industrial works/practices, which helped to gain knowledge in design, manufacturing, production and business development. I started sharing the knowledge gained with the colleagues and students. I chose this college because it is located in rural area and the students need inputs from the industry experienced professionals. Sending the students for industrial visits and internships which enable them to gain hands on experience.

What do you see as the biggest challenges facing higher education today? How do you think your institution is addressing those challenges?

The Students are getting distracted and spending much time with social media and entertainment. Our Institution is conducting many programs on right utilization of mobile. Means using the mobile for learning additional courses and social networks to get to know the opportunities networking with the professionals.

What do you think sets your institution apart from other colleges and universities? And how do you communicate that unique value proportion to students and other stakeholders?

What are your primary responsibilities as Dean? And how do you balance them with the other aspects of your job?

My responsibilities include planning and executing the academic activities across the Institution. Monitor the subject’s allotment to the suitable teachers, teaching learning facilities and conduct of classes. Also conduct faculty development programs to promote the teaching capability of the teachers. Conduct students’ seminars, workshops on latest technologies to the students. Planning and implementation of Additional skilled courses, which increases students’ employability.

Any suggestions you would like to give the group to the current youth and as I and aspiring students?

I advise to the students to remember the objective, why they have joined for the engineering program, quite often. Benchmark their learnings and improve the capability to get a better career.
