The 11th International Conference on Signal Processing and Integrated Networks at the Amity School of Engineering and Technology saw the release of 550 research papers as well as a discussion on the potential for Human Space Flight.

New Delhi: The Amity School of Engineering & Technology (ASET), Noida, recently organized the 11th edition of their International Conference on Signal Processing and Integrated Networks (SPIN 2024) on March 21 and March 22, 2024.

The Conference is held annually to discuss developments in technical fields such as AI, ML, IoT, Robotics, VLSI, Sensors, and Signal and Image Processing.

The Conference saw the presentation of 550 research papers from across the country. A Book of Abstracts was also launched during the Conference and honorary professorship was conferred to Mr. Nitin Bansal, Managing Director at India Head-Networks and Mr. George Paul, Director of Corporate Strategy & Govt. Relations at Sahasra Electronics Private Limited. Shri S. Somanath, Chairman of ISRO, graced the Conference as the Chief Guest.

Dignitaries such as Guest of Honor and Chief Executive at the General Atomics Global Corporation Dr. Vivek Lall, Founder President of Amity Education Group Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, and Dr. Balvinder Shukla, the Vice-Chancellor of Amity University UP, were also present at SPIN 2024.

Shri S. Somanath, addressed ASET students about the importance of Signal Processing as a burgeoning field. He said, “Signal Processing is the essential ingredient of variability of physical parameters and it is very helpful in capturing good quality images, with larger spectral capability…Remote Sensing continues to be the backbone of Spacecraft…Space Science is done through astronomical observations and ASTROSAT looks deep into the universe and studies it minutely…A big chain of signal processing and connected networks enables us to do these activities. Although expertise has been developed in developing this domain, we need to scale up and strengthen the capabilities and fasten the process.”

He also talked about the possibility of Human Space Flight in the next decade and some of ISRO’s most helpful innovations during a Q&A session with ASET students. Dr. Ashok K Chauhan also painted a picture about the future of the industry at the event. He stated, “Industry- Academia association is crucial for the development of the nation and Amity University will be the biggest private partner for the Space Science and Technology sector in India. Amity believes in “success by compulsion” and failure is not an option for us.”
