Likes
- Half the city is the campus, and it's massive.
- It focuses on independent research and innovation, where you're responsible for everything and there is no hand-holding.
- The cost of living is reasonable compared to other cities in Germany.
Dislikes
- It can be challenging to learn German when everyone around you is speaking English.
- The mathematics courses can be challenging compared to other universities.
- The course structure can be confusing for beginners.

- There are a lot of international students in Aachen and a lot of clubs. There's one campus, and there are libraries, with 1 big one in the city centre. There are multiple sports centres, with a big one in the north.
- Almost every week there are events, and there is the Carnival in November and February in the region. There is also a big Indian club called INCA. As for extracurriculars, one can do almost any activity with other students as well in the city, which is a cultural landmark.

- I opted in for off-campus accommodation, for which I paid 400 euros a month. This included all facilities lile electricity, internet and repairs if needed. I got the accommodation via WG-Gesucht, which is the prevalent platform.
- It can be difficult to find a place as an international student who's outside of Germany due to trust, so starting early is recommended. The city is small, so one is always at max 30 mins away from the campus.

- The Masters programme provided access to diverse courses which can be taken other than the main courses mandatory as part of the Masters Programme. This provided an opportunity to explore other fields by taking the courses and learning more. Although there the programmes are structured the students have the chance to explore a lot which is different from some of the education systems in the world with fixed programmes. This might be overwhelming for students who come from an education system where everything is planned and provided to the students
- The university provides various sports and extracurricular facilities for students to explore and actively pursue them
- The university provides language learning courses which can be very well planned within the courses schedule not disturbing the daily lecture plans
Dislikes
- There is a lot of competition among the available opportunities like research assistant positions and projects among the large number of students in the university
- The sports and extracurricular options are also difficult to get due to large number of students applying for it
- Although there are Student Dorms available, getting a place in the student dorm is really difficult with waiting times sometimes upto 1 year or even more

- There are two campuses: Campus Mitte and Campus Melaten.
- Campus Melaten is the new campus with more new infrastructure facilities
- There are libraries situated in Campus mitte and sports facilities located close to campus mitte.
- The university sports centre offers a huge range of activities one can pursue, even including martial arts and other forms of arts.
- University organises incoming festival every year for Bachelors students and also sometimes for master's students.
- Various student organisations present organise various cultural events in which students can voluntarily take part as per their individual interests.

- There are student dorms available in the university. But due to the large number of students indians rarely get a place in the dorms. Firstly, there are a large number of students looking for student dorms and the dorms try to maintain diversity in the student dorm, avoiding too many students from one country in the dorm. Due to these regulations and the large number of indians applying for student dorms, it becomes extremely difficult to find a place at the student dorm. One has to be on the waitlist for almost a year and may still not get a place in the student dorm.
- There are student associations to help in searching for accommodation but one has to search oneself. Associations or others can just provides leads or answer queries to some questions and cannot provide any concrete accommodation options
- For student dorms rent ranges from 250 Eur to 500 Eur. Some student dorms also provide accommodations for students with families, which might be a little expensive but way lower in cost compared to private apartments.
- I would suggest registering for the student dorm waiting list already when one makes the application for the course and keeping renewing it every month without fail. Once the waitlist number reaches single digits, approach the specific student dorm and ask for available options.
- The student dorms are spread out all over the city and not concentrated in a particular area.
- A strong suggestion would be to find an accommodation as close to the university as possible in the same city and not in the neighbouring city. Living far away might make you not get involved in the ongoing campus events and lose out on the opportunities to experience university life.
- Beware of scams asking to transfer money as a caution deposit and rent before having a look at the apartment and signing the contract. Transfer the money only after signing the contract and meeting the landlord in person or someone meets on your behalf. Talk with the prospective flatmates to be sure that the advertisement is legitimate. There are a lot of scams done by people taking advantage of the accommodation crisis in Germany.

- My course is from RWTH International Academy, a private organisation inside RWTH Aachen University, but we still get the degree from the University. They charge high tution fees.

- Whole city has buildings distributed from the University, no specific campus. That said, we have a big, unified campus too called Campus Melaten. Houses most of the research institutions.
- Library, Gym, sports, dance, music, language – everything is available for a price.
- No concept of "Fests", but throughout the year there are some events. Department parties are career events called Bonding.

- 400 in 2022; now I would say 500. Rarely for 3-sharing apartments do you end up in the €350-400€ range. Only rent, water and heating. Electricity and Internet usually our responsibility
- Extremely high demand due to high intake; it's better if you know the language
- No specific regions for Indians, distributed throughout the city
- Have patience; do not rush into decisions that might be scams. find other Indians to possibly scout the area if possible

- As far as I know, RWTH university has a lot of institutes and a lot of buildings in the entire city of Aachen. University itself has different libraries, a sports center, a gym, a medical college, student dorms, canteens and a lot more. Each institute has different activities and each community conducts different events here, like summer parties. Indian students also conduct some activities here during the festival time.

- There are a lot of options to find the accommodation. I find it with the help of an app named WG. University also provides student dorm facilities; students need to apply through a website to get them. I am paying around 400 euros per month for my 2-shared apartment of 62 m². It includes the rent, electricity, gas, water, wifi, radio tax and heating cost. There are a lot of scams ongoing while searching for accommodation here; that was my challenge while finding one.
- The best thing is my accommodation is near to the university's main building; I can access it within a 7-minute walk. There is a bus stop near to my apartment within 200m and a railway station within a 10-minute walk, as well as 3 supermarkets and other shops.

- Whole city is a campus, so I don't know the exact number. DATA SCIENCE CLUB, Startup incubator are different clubs.
- There are career fairs happening every year (this is very important) As it is always help you to engage with the company, which leads to getting some internship or full-time job.
- There are lots of sports is also there like swimming, soccer, badminton, chess, marathon, etc.

- College can help you in searching for this; there are a lot of platforms.
- Monthly rent varies from city to city from 300 euro to 800 euro (it includes all facilities).
- if you are in Aachen, it will cost you max 350 , but at the same time in Munich, it will cost 800 euro. There are a lot of scams going on in the name of renting, so beware of that. My accommodation is 4 km from the university; many students live there.

- The university offers a multitude of events ranging from welcome fests, christmas parties, and food events to bonding events to get in touch with recruiters. Also there are summer exchange programs as well as excursion trips.
- Apart from that, there are department-specific events such as exhibitions and trade fairs. There are also vent offerings in sports and yoga throughout the semester so in total there are events happening every week.

- I found my accommodation using the local room-finding app called WG gesucht. There are accommodations provided in different student complexes, but the application process is not handled by University and there is a waiting list so there is no guarantee of assured rooms.
- One needs to privately look for apartments in shared spaces as well. I got a studio apartment for myself costing about 350 euros, with electricity separate. The campus is spread out with great transport connectivity, and also the town is very small so everything is 30 minutes away at max.

- Our college has only one campus - Aachen campus
- Facilities include - Library, sports facilities (including indoor and outdoor sports), three to four College canteen spread in the city.
- There are various events that take place in university including fresher's party, job fair event, Christmas celebrations, easter celebrations, etc.
- Under extra-curricular we had variety of sports including football, badminton, basketball, kung-fu, karate, salsa, bachata, fencing, volleyball, handball, swimming, skiing, etc. We also had student clubs for competitions like solar cars, Formula student, building satellites, etc. There is also cultural event for easter and christmas celebration

- We used an online college portal to get the university dorms (subsidized rates). Other than that, we could also find private accommodation mainly on Facebook groups or through student network. The monthly rent typically is around 300-450 euros per month, which generally includes room, kitchen, bathroom, balcony, furniture (in some cases)
- There were challenges related to language while finding the accommodation. If the flat mates are German, they would prefer someone who can speak German (which is fair). It is always preferred to start looking for accommodation at least one-two month before moving to Germany. Also, since the college does not have any campus, the institute buildings are spread around the city, there is no specific location which you should look for. However, still it's better to be at the center of the city and hence students can look for accommodation near Ponttor, Elisenbrunnen, Mensa academica, Halifaxstrasse, etc.

- The campus is lively and has a lot of clubs based on your interests. There will be some or the other event going on since this is the largest technical university in Germany. Keep in mind that you need to move out of the city to find a job opportunity since this is a student city with this university spread all over Aachen.
- You have a sports center and all the other facilities that a typical university has but it'll be crowded. You'll have to attend meet-and-greet events, networking events with beer and snacks, and events at a startup ecosystem in Aachen called Collective Incubator. You'll have everything but it depends on how and how much you use those facilities.

- You can use the university website to apply for student dorms, WG-Gesucht, and other relevant apps. Challenges would be that the process is highly time-consuming and fake ads. Make sure you pay the amount in person after coming here if you don't find the opportunity to be reliable.
- One suggestion would be to make friends in Aachen through LinkedIn who will be your senior so that he can assist you, guide you, recommend you, and possibly check the accommodation options if it's genuine.

- Of course it has Well Experienced Professors who are specialized from ETH, and top 1% researchers
- The Research and Development is good but not on advanced topics or future tech, Industrial Technology usage with partnership of companies

- The courses and Examinations are tricky that we need to implement concepts solve complex problems.
- It usually takes 2.5 to 3 years to clear masters degree since since the examinations are tough and follows strict grading .
- Teaching methodology isnt that good, indeed some phd thinks students know everything and teach how they prepare for there research.

- "The campus is quite big and each department have their individual block in total it will be 13 blocks in different areas in city, the events of campus are good and they organize continuously with a period of time, there are some events exclusively for Indians from AISA group, the college will have some events such as conferences, peer mentoring, how to manage exams etc, moving on to extra circular activities, we have sports center so student can register his/her desired sport in that and university gym can be used on a monthly basis”

- I choose Off-Campus accommodation, since the price of On- Campus is high and the resources are limited. Initially through AISA housing group for Indians, later used WG Gesucht application to find accommodation.
- My monthly rent will be 480 EUR with all amenities such as washmachine, dryer, electricity, gas, heater, wifi.
- My suggestion would be to apply for Studentenwerk dorms at the beginning of the year. The prices would be cheaper compared to normal apartments.
- My accommodation is 3 kms from the university and easy accessibility of public transport, most Indians stay in City Center areas.

- The Faculty: All professors of our course are extremely knowledgeable, have a rich academic and professional history and it also reflects in the teaching.
- The mode of teaching: We have a spilt classroom method, where we learn the theory part of the lecture beforehand and actually get the opportunity to practically apply those concepts.
- The Events: As we are students of the business school, we get the opportunity to participate in formal workshops/ events with outside lecturers and also we get to attend informal parties and events which are always a great place for interaction and networking.
Dislikes
- The mode of examination: A lot of students feel that the current mode of examination which is "online" is not the best way to evaluate a master's degree course and in todays era of chatgpt, it is a piece of cake for anyone to score high.
- Job Search/Placement: I feel for a university, who is providing us with the education should also support students for job search. They can offer focussed preparation for specific positions/industries, interview preparation etc. - This is more relevant when you look at it from a perspective that students studying at the business school are essentially internationals and hence new to the german market, they should be trained and supported with that know-how.
- Lack of Diversity: Connected to my previous point, I feel that there was a significant lack of diversity in my course - major chunk of students are from India. Which doesn't exactly contributes to an "international exposure".

- It's hard to state the exact number of campuses, but it should be around 7-8.
- In terms of facilities, there's a university library, sports centre, and language centre, but there aren't any medical services.
- So, there are some events and activities that are always happening at the technical university, but I can't comment on that since I am not a part of the technical university.
- However, when it comes to the business school, we as well have a lot of happening events all round the year—we have summer party, a course party, meet & eat, christmas parties, etc.

- I live in an off-campus apartment, which I found from the most famous and common place to look for housing options in Germany, which is Wg-Gesucht.
- My monthly rent is around 450, which is on the higher side considering Aachen.
- One can find much cheaper accommodation in Aachen; however, finding accommodation in Aachen isn't straightforward.
- It's a really difficult process to find a good place to live in Aachen; as it is a student city, there's a constant demand for apartments.
- I personally luckily did not face a lot of challenges in finding an accommodation and would just recommend starting looking early on and looking for new ads daily.
- Since the university is spread across the entire city and is not at just one location, if you're at a fair distance from the centre, you're good to go.
- And there is no such thing as "a place where Indian students stay.".
