Rennes School of Business offers 10+ scholarships, of which 6 are accessible to Indian applicants. Awards range from a €500 (INR 55,060) language bonus to a €5,000 (INR 5.51 Lakhs) merit discount, plus the French government Charpak stipend for Indian citizens.

  • Standard MSc tuition: €18,200 to €28,900 (INR 20.04 to INR 31.82 Lakhs) for the 12 to 24 month duration.
  • With a merit waiver: €5,000 (INR 5.51 Lakhs) knocked off via the Talent or Unframed award.
  • Waiver plus Charpak combo: €5,000 tuition cut plus €860 (INR 94,703) per month living stipend for 10 months.
  • Next deadline: Talent, Unframed and Bienvenue en France close June 30, 2026 for the September 2026 intake.

Currency Note: All INR conversions use the live rate of 1 EUR = INR 110.12 as of August 2026. RSB scholarships are structured as tuition discounts on your invoice, not as cash transfers to your bank account.

Rennes School of Business Scholarships for UG Students

Bachelor applicants can secure up to €5,000 (INR 5.51 Lakhs) in merit discounts against tuition of €10,500 to €11,900 per year. The three main routes are Talent, Unframed and the French language bonus.

ScholarshipAward (EUR / INR)Who QualifiesDeadline
Talent ScholarshipUp to €5,000 (INR 5.51 Lakhs) tuition discountBachelor applicants with strong Class 12 board results and a positive interview scoreJune 30, 2026
Unframed ScholarshipUp to €5,000 (INR 5.51 Lakhs) tuition discountApplicants with distinctive extra-curriculars, community work or startup experienceJune 30, 2026
Bienvenue en France€500 (INR 55,060) one-time discountApplicants with an Alliance Française certificate (A1 or higher, taken within 2 years)June 30, 2026
Social and Solidarity Grant€500 to €2,000 (INR 55,060 to INR 2.20 Lakhs)Enrolled students facing sudden financial hardship, evidenced via the RISE portalOctober 1 to October 19, 2026 (annual window)

The Talent and Unframed awards are evaluated together during the admission interview, so no separate scholarship form is required. Bienvenue en France needs you to upload the language certificate before the deadline. The Bachelor in International Relations sits at €11,900 (INR 13.10 Lakhs), so a €5,000 award trims the fee by roughly 42%.

Rennes School of Business Scholarships for PG / Master’s Students

Master’s applicants can stack up to €5,500 (INR 6.06 Lakhs) across merit and language awards. Ambassador and TAPIF layers push the discount further for select profiles.

ScholarshipAward (EUR / INR)Who QualifiesDeadline

TAPIF Scholarship15% fee reduction (automatic)Teaching Assistant Programme in France alumni entering any PG trackApplied at enrolment
Solidarity Grant (PG)€500 to €2,000 (INR 55,060 to INR 2.20 Lakhs)Enrolled PG students with a documented cost shock during the yearOctober 1 to October 19, 2026

For a two-year MSc priced at €28,900 (INR 31.82 Lakhs), a Talent grant plus Bienvenue trims outlay by €5,500 (roughly 19%). Add the Charpak stipend (covered next) and the net cash burden falls further.

Reddit Insight: Indian applicants on r/MBA and r/StudyAbroad report the Unframed evaluation weighs interview storytelling more than the CV, so a rehearsed 90-second impact pitch matters more than adding one more internship.

India-Specific Scholarships at Rennes School of Business

Indian citizens have four dedicated funding routes beyond RSB’s own awards: the French government Charpak stipend, the Inlaks Shivdasani scholarship, the JN Tata Endowment, and the WeMakeScholars loan panel.

Scholarship / LoanAward (EUR / INR)Who QualifiesDeadline
France Excellence Charpak Master Scholarship€860 (INR 94,703) per month for up to 10 monthsIndian citizen or OCI holder, aged 30 or younger, admitted to a French Master’s programmeTentative January 15, 2027 (annual cycle, based on the 2026 window)
Charpak stipend add-onsVisa fee waiver, French student health cover (mutuelle), priority CROUS housing accessCharpak selectees onlySame cycle as Charpak Master
Inlaks Shivdasani ScholarshipUp to USD 100,000 (approximately INR 87.9 Lakhs) for tuition, living and one-way airfareIndian nationals under 30 with an offer for a Master’s or MBA at a partner schoolTentative March 15, 2026 (annual cycle)
JN Tata EndowmentINR 1 to 10 Lakhs partial loan-scholarship, plus INR 7.5 Lakhs gift award for top scorersIndian citizens with proven merit, headed for a full-time PG abroadTentative March 25, 2026 (annual cycle)
WeMakeScholars Loan PanelUp to INR 40 Lakhs (collateral and non-collateral options)Indian nationals with an RSB admit letter and a co-applicant meeting income normsRolling; apply 3 to 4 months before the intake

Charpak does not waive RSB tuition. Its €8,600 (INR 9.47 Lakhs) stipend across 10 months covers food, transport and shared housing in Rennes. Combined with a €5,000 Talent grant, the net one-year MSc tuition drops from €18,200 (INR 20.04 Lakhs) to about €4,600 (INR 5.06 Lakhs), with Charpak then meeting the living costs.

The Charpak selection uses two rounds: eligibility screening in early February, then an online interview in mid-April. You must hold an RSB admission letter before applying, so target an RSB decision by late December to feed into the January Charpak window.

Rennes School of Business PhD Scholarships

PhD candidates are typically funded through doctoral contracts, competitive research grants and external French agencies rather than a fixed tuition scholarship pool at RSB.

Funding RouteAward (EUR / INR)Who QualifiesDeadline
RSB Doctoral ContractMonthly stipend set case-by-case, plus tuition waiver against the €12,000+ (INR 13.21 Lakhs+) PhD feeApplicants aligned with a faculty supervisor’s active research themeRolling; tentative March 31 and September 30, 2026 for the two annual review rounds
Eiffel Excellence Scholarship (PhD track)€1,400 (INR 1.54 Lakhs) per month for up to 12 monthsNon-French PhD applicants under 35 in a joint or co-tutelle programmeTentative January 9, 2027 (annual French Ministry cycle)
Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA)Salary of €38,000 to €45,000 (INR 41.85 to INR 49.55 Lakhs) per yearPhD projects that fit EU-funded consortium calls hosted by RSB facultyVaries by call; tentative September 10, 2026 for the next MSCA-PF window

Indian PhD candidates should first email a target supervisor with a two-page proposal. Funding unlocks at project level, not at admission level. Doctoral tuition is a fraction of the MBA fee, so the real cost driver is the stipend your supervisor can attach to your contract.

External Government Scholarships at Rennes School of Business

Beyond RSB’s internal awards, Indian students admitted here can access two external government schemes for direct tuition or living support.

ScholarshipFunderAward (EUR / INR)Deadline
Eiffel Excellence Scholarship (Master track)French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs€1,181 (INR 1.30 Lakhs) per month, plus return flight and health cover, for up to 24 monthsTentative January 9, 2027 (RSB nominates you, not a direct student application)
Erasmus+ GrantEuropean Commission€250 to €600 (INR 27,530 to INR 66,072) per month during an exchange semesterVaries by partner university; tentative April 30 and October 30, 2026

Eiffel requires the university to nominate you, so raise the request in your RSB application email or during the admission interview. The nomination is competitive, but RSB’s international office runs one nomination cycle per academic year.

To be considered for Eiffel nomination, prepare:

  • CV in English or French with clear career milestones and quantified outcomes
  • Two-page motivation letter tying your career goals to French sector strengths
  • Transcripts translated to English, with the grading scale explained on a covering sheet
  • Two academic or professional reference letters, signed on institutional letterhead

Reddit Insight: Indian MSc applicants on r/StudyAbroad note that Eiffel-nominated candidates without a GMAT score above 650 rarely progress past the ministry shortlist, so treat the test seriously even if RSB itself is GMAT-optional for your track.

Rennes School of Business Scholarships: Frequently Asked Questions

Ques. What is the maximum scholarship stack an Indian student can secure at Rennes School of Business?

Ans. An Indian Master’s applicant can combine the €5,000 (INR 5.51 Lakhs) Talent or Unframed discount with the €500 (INR 55,060) Bienvenue en France award. Layer the €860 (INR 94,703) per month Charpak stipend for 10 months on top. Together the stack totals roughly €14,100 (INR 15.53 Lakhs), cutting the one-year MSc net cost by more than half.

Ques. When should Indian students apply for Rennes School of Business scholarships?

Ans. The three main RSB awards close June 30, 2026 for the September 2026 intake. The January 2027 intake deadline is August 1, 2026. Charpak opens in November each year and shuts around mid-January, with interview results by late April. File your RSB application by December so the admit letter reaches you in time for Charpak.

Ques. Do you have to submit a separate scholarship application at Rennes School of Business?

Ans. No. Talent and Unframed are assessed automatically during the admission interview using your transcripts, English score, CV and personal statement. Bienvenue en France requires only the Alliance Française certificate upload. The Social and Solidarity Grant is the sole award needing a separate RISE portal filing after enrolment.

Ques. What GPA or GMAT score is realistic for the Rennes School of Business Talent Scholarship?

Ans. Rennes School of Business does not publish a hard cutoff. Recent MSc admits with the Talent award typically report a Class 12 score of 85%+ or a Bachelor’s CGPA of 7.5+ on 10. For MBA and Master in Management, a GMAT of 600 or higher paired with 24+ months of quality work experience improves the odds.

Ques. Does the Charpak Master’s scholarship cover Rennes School of Business tuition?

Ans. Charpak provides an €860 (INR 94,703) monthly stipend for up to 10 months. It also covers the visa fee, French student health insurance (mutuelle) and priority CROUS housing. Tuition itself is not waived. Most Charpak-selected Indian students layer it with the €5,000 Talent or Unframed discount to cut the RSB invoice.

Ques. Will a Rennes School of Business scholarship cover rent and food in Rennes?

Ans. The RSB-issued awards are tuition discounts, not cash stipends, so they do not pay rent directly. Living costs in Rennes run €800 to €1,100 (INR 88,096 to INR 1.21 Lakhs) per month for shared housing, groceries and transport. The Charpak stipend or an Erasmus+ mobility grant of €250 to €600 per month is what covers day-to-day expenses.

  • No, I have not received any scholarship but my batchmates did receive scholarships.
  • One of my batch mates received a 2000 euros scholarship and another batch mate got 1500 euros.
  • The eligibility criteria are that you have to be in the top 2 in that particular batch and they would give scholarships.
  • On average, around 2-3 people per course would receive the scholarship.

  • There is a platform called studapart which helps with accommodation and it's the best platform to find apartments.
  • 350 was the rent; facilities included were an oven, washing machine, electricity, water, fridge, dishwasher and stove.
  • Use Studapart for finding apartments.
  • My accommodation was 2 km from college. Most indians stay near university of rennes 2.

  • College put me in touch with a local apartment known as Appart'city Beauregard, where I rented a fully equipped studio apartment. As I had missed out on cheaper CROUS room listings offered by the college due to a delay in applying, I ended up renting a pricey, luxurious studio at Appart'City, which was definitely top-tier.

  • The accommodation is generally of two types. One is shared accommodation, where you can pair up with up to 5 of your friends and move into an apartment or find a studio where you can live alone, like a hostel. Generally the studio for 1 is more costly but is more preferred as you can live by yourself and don't have to share a kitchen or washroom.

  • College will help you apply at CROUS, which is the government hostel.
  • The rooms are pretty small (9m2) but nevertheless, it’s decent given the low cost, especially with the help of CAF (caisse d’aide familiale).
  • There are other sites online like Studapart and Agence d’immobilier but please be careful because local landlords are leeches who only see you as a source of income and will do anything to deny your deposit at the end.

You can apply for a cheap stay in France by submitting your stay application on any online platform that provides hostels. Recommended is long-term Airbnb. You may face challenges in commutation if you choose any stay which is far from town.

There is a requirement of France which is called as a gurantor. So basically that person can be a French citizen or French relatives who becomes your guarantor that they are letting you rent or live in your apartment. Normally agencies charge fees for it. Studapart was one of the platform I used to rent my apartment. And the best thing about renting an apartment in France when you are a student is that the government will give you concession of amount in CAF and it depends on the amount of rent you are paying. For eg. my rent was 470€ as I was living in a studio apartment I got 170€ back from the government.
