In TNEA 2025, 141 candidates achieved the maximum score of 200 — meaning they scored 100 in Mathematics and 100 each in Physics and Chemistry. Tie-Breaking Rule: If two candidates end up with the exact same normalised TNEA score, their ranks are separated using a randomly assigned number — generated and attached to each candidate before the rank list is published. The candidate with the higher random number gets the better (lower) rank. This number appears on your rank card and does not reflect academic merit in any way; it simply ensures that no two candidates ever share the same rank.

TNEA 2026 Qualifying Marks and Eligibility

Before assigning a rank, TNEA checks whether you meet the minimum eligibility criteria. Candidates who fall short are declared ineligible and cannot participate in counselling — no rank, no seat. In TNEA 2025, 8,657 candidates were found ineligible at this stage, a reminder that crossing the percentage minimum is a hard requirement, not a formality.

Students who completed Class 12 from CBSE, ICSE, or other recognised national boards are fully eligible to apply.
