TNEA 2025 Online Counselling Process
Counselling will be held online in three rounds and each phase consists of four stages, which are as follows. Students will appear in the counselling sessions on the basis of their rank.
Choice Filling: Candidates will get three days to decide which colleges and branches they want to choose based on their preferences. Here candidates will have to choose in order of preference.
Allotment: Allotment will be given based on certain factors like rank, community, and availability of seats.
Confirmation of Allotment: In this stage, if a seat is allotted to candidates, they must confirm it within two days of allotment. In case any candidate fails to confirm the seat allotment, then he/she might lose the seat. Moreover, candidates will be given the following options if a seat is allotted to them.
- To accept and join: Candidates who accept the allotted seat are required to download the provisional allotment order. After downloading the provisional allotment order, they must report to their respective colleges before the date mentioned in the provisional allotment letter to complete the admission process. If any candidate fails to report his/her allotment will be canceled.
- To accept and upward: In this, if candidates are allotted seats but wish to move in the higher order of preference a tentative allotment will be given to them. Candidates must confirm their allotment of the previous order and report to any nearby TFC and pay the required fees for higher allotment.
- To decline and upward: In case a candidate is not satisfied with the allotment, but wishes to move to the higher allotment of his/her choice and is not able to get the desired allotment, he/she will be moved to the next round.
- To decline and move to the next round: A candidate can choose this option if he/she does not get the desired allotment and doesn't want to wait for the higher allotment.
- To decline and quit: Candidates can choose this option if they have not been allotted the desired seat and want to quit from all rounds.
- Upward or to move to the next round: If a candidate is not allotted any seat, they will be shown this option. However, to such candidates, seats will be allotted if available and if no seats are available they will be moved to the next round.

Reporting to College/TFC and payment of fees depending upon their confirmation: Upon final confirmation, students must report to their respective college and pay the required fees to complete the admission process.
Students who are eligible for scholarships must report to their respective colleges or TFCs (for upward movement) for furthering the admission process. These scholarship students are not required to pay the college fees. Students who come under First Graduate Scholarship, PMSS, and Government schools with 7.5% preferential treatment are eligible to get scholarships.
