IIITH UGEE 2026 Exam Pattern: UGEE exam pattern PDF is not officially released by the examination board. IIITH UGEE exam is conducted in online mode for a total of 150 marks. The question paper contains two sections – SUPR (Subject Proficiency Test) and REAP (Research Aptitude Test). The total duration of IIITH UGEE Exam is 3 hours with 60 minutes allotted to the SUPR section and 120 minutes to the REAP section.

The syllabus for SUPR and REAP are based on Class 11 and Class 12 levels of Physics, Maths, Chemistry (CBSE and most state syllabus). However, REAP will have an emphasis on testing your critical and creative thinking abilities.

SUPR and REAP section will have a 25% negative marking for each incorrect response. The scores of SUPR will be used to shortlist candidates and REAP scores are used to determine the rank of the shortlisted candidates. The selected candidates are called for the interview round.

IIIT UGEE 2026 Exam Pattern for SUPR

IIIT Hyderabad entrance exam conducted SUPR section to test your core subject knowledge. The test includes Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) questions.

  • There will be 50 questions in total from the subject proficiency test section with English as the medium of instruction/ paper.
  • To answer all 50 questions, you will be provided a time limit of 60 minutes.

  • REAP section will also have 50 questions and medium of paper will remain in English language only.
  • Duration of UGEE REAP section is 120 minutes and negative marking scheme is present.
  • You will get +2 marks for correct answer and -0.5 marks for each incorrect answer.

Marking Scheme of IIITH UGEE varies section wise.

  • Section 1, SUPR (Subject Proficiency Test) has -0.25 negative marking. You will be awarded one mark for each correct response.
  • As for the section 2, REAP (Research Aptitude Test), you will get two marks for each correct answer.

However, UGEE REAP section has a negative marking of 0.5 marks. This means, if you choose the wrong answer, you will lose 0.5 marks from the total marks allotted to that question.

How to Avoid Negative Marking in IIITH UGEE?

Negative marking is a fear factor of many students. It is best to avoid negative marking in the examination to secure good marks.

  1. First thing to do is to read the question carefully.
  2. Make sure you read the data given in the question correctly and then solve it.
  3. Apart from this, you should not guess the answer randomly instead you can try to eliminate wrong options.
  4. Sometimes, the question can be solved through elimination methods when you are unsure of the correct answer.
