Nucleus and nucleoid are the dynamic centres of the cell. The cell is the basic structural and functional unit of all living organisms. It is the centre of the location of the genetic material called DNA (Deoxyribose nucleic acid). It may be in the form of chromosomes or chromatin reticulum surrounded by a nuclear membrane or simply a naked genetic material floating in the cytoplasm.
