  • vital in understanding the intricacies of instrumentation.
  • Soft Computing Lab and Advanced Virtual Instrumentation Lab.

M.Tech. in Control Systems: Who should opt?

Ideal candidates for the course would possess:

  • STEM Skills: This is the core foundation of any engineering stream. STEM sands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and is essentially the amalgamation of these 3 subjects. Students are taught a series of mathematical and logistical problems that form part of the curriculum.

  • Team-working Abilities: to work as a team on a particular project. Every assignment consists of a team that works on various parts of the project. Here team work becomes important for task-execution.
  • Strong Analytical Skills: Engineering being a complex field, every problem needs to be looked at from a different angle. Uncertainties and hidden errors are bound to occur. Therefore, students need to approach the problem with an active and alert analytical mind. The devised must meet all guidelines with minimal risk in the construction process. Experimentation might be needed before the actual projects shapes up so that the budget isn’t wasted on failed attempts.
  • Attention to Detail: a keen eye needed to bring every task to perfection with maximum accuracy. Every project involves detailing during the planning and construction process. Students need to make sure that nothing important gets missed that could derail the enterprise.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: for communication with peers and professors. Engineering involves usage of technical language on a daily basis. Students might deal with people who might not understand the complex terms of technical language. They hence need to make it understandable and meaningful to such clients.
  • Awareness: of the latest advancements in the technical field of Control Systems.
  • Leadership and Management Skills: for execution of responsibilities and tasks that might be needed in team-management.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is up to date, and it properly welcomes new ideas and helps us develop our innovative and decision-making skills. Basic Electrical Engineering, Engineering Graphics, Linear Algebra and Differential Equations, Probability and Statistics Computer Networks (Theory + Lab), and many other topics are covered in detail. The curriculum is a good mix of theory and practice. The college's faculty is excellent and highly experienced. The faculty members have earned their PhDs from India's top universities and have extensive research experience. The faculty is very professional, and they know how to teach us difficult terms in a simple way.

Campus Life

On-campus, there is also a medical facility. The college's research laboratories are state-of-the-art, with all types of equipment available for study and research activity. We also have the chance to undertake various types of research on the college campus. The college library is a source of knowledge; there are numerous books on space technology in the library. All of the library's books are also available as E-Books. The college also hosts the IIST cricket league, which is a great event for cricket fans, as well as badminton competitions on campus.

Campus Life

Labs are very good and updated. Thermal Engineering laboratory contains cryogenic Lab equipments, Electrical engineering lab are very old and very famous in india and abroad also. Most of the machines and equipments are 100 years old or so. They keep updating equipments also. But for PG courses they do not have any dedicated lab. you will have to do with UG lab only. You will have to carry your own laptops for simulation labs.

Admission

For any master program at VJTI, you will have to first qualify GATE examination. For different branches and specialisation there are different cutoff marks for admission. For Mechanical allied branches cutoffs are very high and for Electronics and Allied branch cutoffs are high. Specifically for electrical and allied branches, you may get even if you have just qualified or scored about 400 Gate Score.
