Ques. How are the placements for instrumentation and control branch in Vit pune?

Ans. On average, out of the 80 students, only 65 students are eligible to sit for placements. Out of these, a few opt for higher studies so only around 50-55 are left for placements. The main core companies that visit VIT Pune are Emerson, Honeywell, and Tetra Pak. The number of recruitments can be understood through the points below Emerson recruits around 8 students. Honeywell recruits around 7 students. Tetra Pak taken in only 1–2. These companies offer an average package of around 5 . 5 LPA. So around 20–25 students will be placed in core companies and other students have to opt for IT companies. To get good offers,you need a CPI above 8.5 at the end of the third year and also try to get an internship at Emerson.Read more

Ans. VIT is an autonomous institute affiliated with Pune University with an amazing placement scenario. Every student with a decent CGPA of around 7.5 is able to get amazing packages from good companies. In 2021, 50 out of 59 students got placed in Instrumentation Engineering with the placement percentage standing at 84.74%. Usually, the placement scenario can be divided into these  The campus recruitment where companies like MU Sigma, Persistent, Indian Navy Indian Army recruit students of this branch. IT companies like Infosys, TCS, and Wipro, also visit the campus. Core Instrumentation companies that have recruited students in the past include Uhde India, Jacobs, Emerson Process(Shivajinagar, Pune), Honeywell, Sudarshan Chemicals, Forbes Marshall, and Tetra Pak -  Students with backlogs or less CGPA might face issues during placements. Read more

Ans. There is no better branch between EE at DTU and ICE at NSIT. It's all about preferences and inclinations. To help you make an informed decision let's talk about both the branches individually EE at DTU EE at DTU is core electrical engineering wherein you are taught concepts related to power, grids, electrical machines, etc.  For placements, core companies like BHEL and companies in the energy field visit the campus.  ICE at NSIT This branch has Control Engineering concepts along with electrical, electronics, and computer engineering.ICE has very light coursework and it's easy to maintain a good CGPA.  You also get enough time for your passions and extracurriculars. IT giants like Facebook, Google, etc. Don't allow ICE students to sit for placements.  Core companies that recruit students of this branch include Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, and others.  Non-tech companies like BCG, Bain, and JPMC allow all students to sit for placements. NSIT has a larger batch size and thus the competition here is less than DTU for placements but it still it cannot match the brand value of DTU. Ans. I know a little bit about ISI Kolkata since I have a few friends from the institute. Here is what you should know about the internships between semesters.  The course curriculum specifies that in the summer after completing your first year of M.Tech, you have to do an internship either in the industry or academia. You will have 3 options.  Industry: Many companies that visit the Campus for placements of 2nd-year students also select interns for the same. Some of such companies are Samsung Research Labs, Google, General Electric, Reliance, Flipkart, De Shaw, JP Morgan Chase, etc. The average stipend offered last year was 65,000 rupees/month. Some companies offer more than 1 lakh/month. One of my friends interned at Samsung Research Labs. Academia: As per ISI guidelines, you need to pursue an internship at a different academic Institute or industry. A friend of mine went to NUS Singapore, while two others went to a university in Germany. You can also apply to other institutes in Japan, USA, and Europe. People also go to IITs, CMI, and other Tier-1 Institutes of India. Within ISI: If for some reason you could not get an internship in the above-mentioned ways, you can approach any of the 250+ faculty members across all 5 ISI‘s and can ask to work with them in their labs. You will have internships at the end of the first year. In the second year, you will have placements, dissertation, academics. So, the only time left to do an additional internship is the winter break after the first sem. Unless you are extremely enthusiastic, I will suggest that you take a break during this period. Because after the break you will be swamped with coursework for 1.5 years.Read more

To choose between both of these is your choice. Here are some of the facts about NIT Trichy and SSN. Faculty: SSN has amazing teaching faculty. They have quality teachers, some better than in NIT Trichy.  Ranking: SSN is one of the premier institutes in Tamil Nadu and NIT Trichy is among the top-ranked NITs in the country. Extracurricular activities: SSN gives equal importance to academics and extra-curricular activities as well. They focus on overall development. In NIT Trichy, a lot of extracurricular activities are held. Fests are organized almost every week. They focus too much on extracurricular. Campus: SSN is lush green and has a scenic beauty. NIT Trichy has a rocky campus and does not have much greenery, although they do have a beautiful college avenue road. Placements: The placements of NIT Trichy are better than SSN, however, the Average CTC is almost the same. Here is the placement highlight of the year 2020.
