Fees and Financial Aid

Our college, being a govt college asks for a minimal amount of fees. The students having low family income need not pay tuition fees according to the govt rule. Besides, students can apply for the svmcm scholarship and other central government scholarship schemes. This course has a 100% placement chance as so many companies do visit to recruit students with very high salaries.

Internships Opportunities

Students are eligible to get an internship after the 4th semester. You have to take responsibility for this internship. But after the 5th semester, the college will arrange for internships and industrial visits. Some of the internships are stipends. Projects depend on which industry you are going to and on which project currently going on.

Course Curriculum Overview

Ceramic Technology is one of the most sophisticated departments in Engineering. This stream is not taught in many colleges with a few exceptions. And there are a lot of things to learn. Basically, it deals with inorganic chemistry and it finds a massive application in all industries, as well as several independent industries, have also established on its basis. The refractory, glass, optical fibre, whitewares, cement, abrasives are all gifts of ceramic. The faculty: student ratio for our department is approximately 1:5, as the department is quiet so we are a small family. The faculty section is extremely good. Teachers welcome students to ask doubts and queries. As we are a small family so all students are equally observed as well as groomed. Their teaching method is totally practical based though it has been hindered recently due to the COVID pandemic, otherwise, they try their best for us to learn.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are very much affordable to study in our college. For our department the annual fees is 6000 + ?2000 (examination fee) so basically the whole Btech course can be completed by affording only 32000. As this is State Government run college of West Bengal the financial hike is very unlikely and accordingly many scholarships are there to avail like : Vivekananda scholarship, Kanyashree (for girls) , freeship so basically if anyone is having a financial problem , no worry our college and our government is there to help you. Much industrial training for industries like Saint Gobain, Vedanta, Johnson and Johnson refractory, Aditya Birla insulators, Heat Works, and many more The above mentioned companies also come for campus placement as well.

The gender ratio was odd as mostly were boys. It would 80% boys. The campus life was great as some or the other events we're always going on. The seniors we're cool and we used to play together. We celebrate cultural festival which is known as JAGRITI and technical fest (KARMATEK) every year. It's a very big event where participants come from other colleges. We also have yearly freshers welcome for the new comers and farewell for the passing out batch. We do held a yearly football and cricket competition which is mostly intra college. Among the indoor game events we had table tennis and carton competition.

Course Curriculum Overview

It's an automous college under WBUT. The faculty is very good the course structure is very standard. Our college probably has one of the best faculty members in our country. They are very helpful, they regularly gives lectures and Ceramic Technology being a sophisticated stream we all have to depend more on our highly educated professors. They train us for our lives.

Admission

Ceramic technology is one of the most sophisticated streams of Engineering which basically deals with inorganic chemistry. Personally I like inorganic chemistry a lot so I chose this stream after seeing the details. And my college is the one out of very less government aided college that provides you the opportunity to take this B-Tech course. I sat for WBJEE in 2019, I secured a rank 5211 and then in the first round of online counselling I got the chance to take admission here. Next after two weeks I physically reported in my institution and they provided us a stipulated date to join the college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Very less in fact since it is a state government aided college we also catagorise students as TFW, and other reservation qoutas. For Ceramic Technology -6000/year. For Computer Science and Engineering-12000/year. For Information Technology-19000/year. The college accepts a bank receipt every year and also provides the complete fee-breakdown and is fully transparent.

Course Curriculum Overview

College is so good teachers are so supportive they have prepared their curriculum based on the requirement of an average level student in mind. That is of an average guy scores a good amount of marks that means a clever student can easily score more. Regarding research lecturers gave us a sample of time to do wt we want they have patience that I could complete my project in time. While doing my projects I have lot of queries to ask but lecturers cleared the entire doubts without any problem.

Admission

Well I just wrote my EMCET which is an entrance exam for engineering and to get good colleges then I got a good rank after that we have counseling I have attended the counseling in the counseling they will give u list of colleges available based on your EMCET score I got good score so they gave 3 options in that this college is on top so I have selected this college. They asked me some basic information I have them they allotted the seat in this particular college
