ILS Law College: A detailed review

Likes

There are various moot court competitions
Sports facilities such as table-tennis, lawn tennis, cricket pitches are there
Academics and professors are very good at ILS.

Dislikes

There is compulsory attendance rule of 75%
College doesn't take care of your placements or internships

Admission:

I had applied to GLC, Mumbai and ils law college only. I would prefer ils over glc because ils has good atmosphere regarding academics and a very big library as well. The admissions in ils happen by MAHCET law

ILS Law College - One of the best college of India

Likes

beautiful campus. Green and spacious with amazing connectivity from the city
Pune is a great city for students, in terms of opportunities and safety
alumni base of the college is amazing and placed at very good places and they are very helpful

Dislikes

course curriculum should be updated and revised
administrative staff should be more student friendly
some amenities are privatized, they should be made exclusive for students

ILS law college is a great college with established history of more than 100 years. It has great alumni base, good placements, beautiful campus and affordable fee structure. I appeared for clat but I could not get any NLU. I believe my preparation lagged in some aspects of practice. I got accepted in Symbiosis Law college Pune. Comparison of SLS Pune and ILS Pune - 1. fees - ILS total fees - 204000 SLS total fees - 2000000 2. ILS has better alumni and long term history 3. ILS has better and bigger campus than SLS 4. SLS has better placements than ILS. 5. ILS has better campus life than SLS. Other than SLS pune, I got admitted in Nirma college of Law and Army institute of Mohali. I chose ILS Pune over them because of the overall exposure that the college provided my and fees structure that better suited to my needs. Admission process of ILS Pune is through MHCET exam Once you clear it, you appear for counselling rounds, and give your preference of universities. Then according to your rank the college is alloted, you can lock it or put for upgradation. One that is done, you visit college for offline admission and payment of fees to become a student of that college.

Life at ILS

Likes

The lectures are conducted regularly and the faculty is great and well qualified
The campus is amazing and huge and is surrounded by greenery
There are a lot of moot courts and activities going on throughout the year which helps in personality building

Dislikes

Attendance is very strict and due to that we get minimum time for pursuing other hobbies or getting an internship

I applied to GLC Mumbai and got accepted there but I preferred a good college campus which ILS has. And also I find pune a better place to live . There is mhcet law entrance exam which is accepted by this college. And the cut-off for general category in 2023 was 107/150

Likes

I appreciate the teaching methods of teachers.
Infrastructure of college is well developed.
College encourages us to do active participation in various events and exams.

Dislikes

Management by administrative department.

Admission:

I choose this college over others because it ranks at fist position in Maharashtra state. It is well recognised college throughout Maharashtra for its infrastructure and teaching staff and it has recently completed 100 year of establishment.

ILS LAW COLLEGE - A REVIEW

Likes

A few of the professors are very knowledgeable as well are the experts of their fields. They are also very skilled in teaching the concepts in a very good manner.
Cells and Committees are very active and work in a very systematic manner.
Seniors are very interactive and friendly. They are very eager to help you in your doubts regarding academics, internships or even competitions.

Dislikes

Infrastructure is below par its legacy and name.
Administration is also plagued with bureaucratic red tape
Boys' hostel is like a ruin with almost no amenities.

Admission:

I gave CLAT, apart from MHCET Law Entrance 2024. But I was not able to get into the NLU of my choice. So, I gave MHCET and got into ILS Law College. The admission process includes taking MHCET 5 year or 3 year Law Entrance Exam and then taking part into the counselling process as per the rank or percentile.

ILS: A OVERVIEW

Likes

The Staff, the college activities it's all fun and you get a proper vibe of your college life it's one of the best experiences, the college involves alot of events, guest lectures which are inspiring and is always upto something new
The boys to the girl ratio is 60-40 The boys hostel though it's not good with infrastructure it's the best place to enjoy and take out the most of your college life
The campus itself will make you adore the college it's one of the best things about this college the greenery all of it makes its a whole new vibe

Dislikes

The mess the food is not really upto the standard.
The political atmosphere of the college which is very radicalized in two groups
Lack of enthusiasm regarding sports and not very updated gym

Admission:

The only option i had after i did not clear CLAT was this exam , i gave MHTCET i did not get GLC as the cutoff for MS was 112 i got 110 so i had to come to GLC i had no other option and hence forth i decided to get ILS , its a great college has one of the most renowned CJI as alumni and also the Chief Minister of Maharshtra so it's a great thing to get admission into this college. The admission process is very simple just follow the process that the website of college provides you with carry essential documemts

The fees of the course BBALLB is not high and affordable
College has an intership and placement cell which provides internship opportunities
College provides students with different opportunities to learn and participate in competition such as moot court

Dislikes

Some teachers from the BBALLB course are mean and biased
Infrastructure of the college is old and not renovated

Admission:

I chose this college because this was the top law college in maharashtra with good placements. My second priority in colleges was government law college mumbai but got selected in ils as it was my first priority

Life at ILS Law college, Pune

Likes

Bright intelligent students, Extremely talented and overall very good to network with
Extremely organised and systamatic, Faculties are cooperative and principal is also very supportive of the issues faced by the students, Whole college is pretty encouraging
Good placement records and strong alumni base, We have many former chief justices as our alumnis and many distinguished personalities often come in our college for guest lectures

Dislikes

Strict attendance policy due to which there's more focus on academics than practical experience
Limited number of slots for participating in co curricular competitions

Admission:

ILS has it's own legacy of 101 years and still counting, The strong alumni base, The former and so many future cheif justices, ILS is rated NAAC A+ and has AIR 9 in top government law colleges, It's a blessing and a previledge to get admission here, The eligibility criteria is 12th pass with minimum 40% and getting a rank in mh cet as per the cut off of that year. ILS was my dream college from day 1, I took admission in BVP New law college as well but dropped out of it in three weeks after getting call from ILS

Prestigious and most Affordable Law College

Likes

College has a vast area of tress and plants. The greenery looks the most beautiful in Rainy season. One can even spot peacocks in our campus
Learned and experienced teachers. They are helpful and kind and even help us get internship. Thanks to good quality teachers we have a great alumni base.
Campus has facilities like swimming pool and a stadium. The library of our college is one of the oldest libraries in India and has books and pamphlets dating back to British era.

Dislikes

The infrastructure could get better. It hasn't been updated since last 4-5 decades. Number of students and batches have increased whereas number of classrooms in college is still very less
Boys Hostel infrastructure is very old and not maintained at all.
College has a lot of dogs some of whom have even bitten students. But due to certain animal lover college professor they are not removed from the campus neither restrained and because of that students have to suffer

Admission:

I got this college after giving Mhcet. This is second best college in Maharashtra. I chose this college over Government Law college Mumbai, which is number 1 in Maharashtra as this college has compulsory 75% attendance where as GLC Mumbai doesn't have compulsory attendance. I believed that this college would instill discipline in me and help me learn the subjects more properly. Also i wanted to live in Pune rather than Mumbai as it is more expensive city
