ILS Pune Admission FAQs

Ques. Can students from outside Maharashtra apply for admission at ILS Pune?

Ans. Yes, ILS Pune has admission opportunities for students throughout India. But, because MHCET LAW is the compulsory entrance exam, all out-of-state applicants have to enroll and take the same, and state and all-India quotas may have slightly different cutoffs.

Ques. Does ILS Pune accept CLAT scores for admission?

Ans. No, ILS Pune does not take CLAT scores to admit to its law schools. The BALLB, BBA LLB, and LLB are all strictly based on the MHCET LAW entrance test and centralized counselling (CAP) process.

Ques. What documents are required during ILS Pune admission counselling?

Ans. Applicants are required to carry their MHCET LAW admit card, score card, 10th and 12th mark sheets, transfer certificate, caste certificate (where applicable), and passport-size photographs. Inability to deliver any of the documents required may disqualify one from the counselling exercise.

Ques. Can international students apply to ILS Pune?

Ans. Yes, ILS Pune has the option of international or NRI students to apply, but the number of seats is minimal under this quota. These candidates are also expected to act in line with the requirements of the university, present the necessary equivalency certificates, as well as the payment of the fees in a foreign currency or according to the regulations of the institution.

Ques. How difficult is it to get admission into ILS Pune?

Ans. The ILS Pune admission is also very competitive since the MHCET LAW cutoff scores are among the highest in the state. As an illustration, the BALLB program typically needs a score in the 98th percentile, and it is therefore important that students prepare well before the entry examination.

AI-Generated Summary based on 24 Reviews

For admission to the Bachelor of Laws (L.L.B.) program at ILS Law College, students from Maharashtra and other states must meet specific entry requirements. The college reserves 85% of its seats for Maharashtra students. Candidates need to have completed their 12th grade with a minimum of 40% (general category) to 45% (for some categories). Admission to the program also requires taking the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test for Law (MH CET Law), which is mandatory for government law college admissions, including ILS.

The application fee is approximately INR 1500, and the exam has a medium difficulty level, providing ample time for completion. Students should ensure all necessary documents are meticulously organized when applying. ILS Law College, known for its strong alumni network and over a century-old legacy, including several former and future chief justices, requires candidates to achieve a rank in the MH CET that aligns with the year's cutoff to secure a place.

The college is rated NAAC A+ and ranks 9th among top government law colleges in India.

Student Snaps:

Admission:

ILS law college is a great college with established history of more than 100 years. It has great alumni base, good placements, beautiful campus and affordable fee structure. I appeared for clat but I could not get any NLU. I believe my preparation lagged in some aspects of practice. I got accepted in Symbiosis Law college Pune. Comparison of SLS Pune and ILS Pune - 1. fees - ILS total fees - 204000 SLS total fees - 2000000 2. ILS has better alumni and long term history 3. ILS has better and bigger campus than SLS 4. SLS has better placements than ILS. 5. ILS has better campus life than SLS. Other than SLS pune, I got admitted in Nirma college of Law and Army institute of Mohali. I chose ILS Pune over them because of the overall exposure that the college provided my and fees structure that better suited to my needs. Admission process of ILS Pune is through MHCET exam Once you clear it, you appear for counselling rounds, and give your preference of universities. Then according to your rank the college is alloted, you can lock it or put for upgradation. One that is done, you visit college for offline admission and payment of fees to become a student of that college.

I got this college after giving Mhcet. This is second best college in Maharashtra. I chose this college over Government Law college Mumbai, which is number 1 in Maharashtra as this college has compulsory 75% attendance where as GLC Mumbai doesn't have compulsory attendance. I believed that this college would instill discipline in me and help me learn the subjects more properly. Also i wanted to live in Pune rather than Mumbai as it is more expensive city
