Documents Required at Counselling

10+2 mark sheet/degree mark sheet & certificates –original as well as Xerox.
Scanned copies of the original certificates have to be submitted on CD/Pen drive.
Bank draft(s) of requisite fee in favor of ‘NIFT HO’.
Proof of DOB (10th STD mark sheet/certificate) - original & Xerox.
SC/ST/OBC-Non creamy /physically challenged certificate.
Domicile certificate-as applicable.
Basis of funding of the tuition fee/income certificate of the parents.
Medical certificate stating medical fitness.
Affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs. 10/- (only for those, who are seeking provisional admission)
Undertaking regarding Anti-ragging
Undertaking regarding refund of fee.

Application Procedure

The NIFT campus accepts all the applications from the eligible candidates through the application process which is common for all the other campuses of NIFT across the country. In order to apply, here are the following steps:-

Candidates can apply online by visiting the official website.
Candidates are requested to kindly check out the eligibility & should look at the guidelines of the institution before filling up the application form. The prospectus is available on the website of the institution. You can download it for free.
Everything has to be filled up correctly in the application form, for example, your name, contact, other information etc for communication purpose.
The application fee can be either paid through online banking by using credit/debit card, or you can do it offline by using Bank DD.
The application fee is as follows:-

Candidates who will pay the application fee through DD has to obtain the draft before filling up the form & also have to furnish the details of the DD in the application form.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have successfully completed any of the following:

The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education / State Board New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi. OR
General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level/ International Baccalaureate (IB). OR
Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system. OR
A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects. OR
3 or 4-years diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.

NIFT Kolkata campus is currently offering UG level bachelor’s degree courses in the field of Fashion technology & Design. Under that, they offer specializations in Fashion design, Accessory design, Textile design, Knitwear design, Fashion communication & Leather design. B.FTech. is offered with the specialization in Apparel production.

Key points for admission

In B.Des. there are a total of 120 seats, 30 seats for each specialization.
The capacity of B.FTech. is just 30 seats.
Candidates seeking admission in this institute, who have not yet completed their last semester/final year/12th, have to show the proof of clearing all the exams/semesters.

NIFT Kolkata UG Eligibility Criteria

Educational qualification for Bachelor of Fashion Technology (Apparel Production) (B.FTech) Programme and B.Des. should be any of the following:

The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

3 or 4-years diploma in any branch of Engineering recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education

A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to a 10+2 system with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/ Cambridge/Sri-Lanka) at the advanced (A) level with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics / International Baccalaureate (IB).

NIFT Kolkata UG Selection Criteria

B.Des.

For candidates to the UG Design programmes, the selection process comprises a written examination comprising a Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT), followed by a Situation Test to be undertaken by shortlisted candidates of the written examination.
In case of foreign nationals, the candidate must have a valid SAT score for admission in B.Des.
Students have to appear for the college entrance exam and selection is done through the merit of the exam.
In case of equal scores at the entrance exam, candidates who are older (by age) will be given the preference.

B.FTech.

For B.F.Tech. candidates, GAT will be the final test for selection.

Likes

College provide lot of interesting projects like Craft cluster we can take knowledge about other department also with IDM
We can enjoy lots of activities and festival in college life

Dislikes

Fees is too heigh, every year Nift increase fee structure
Scholarship benefits is not for everyone students.

Fees and Financial Aid:

Nift fee is too much heigh ever the students who is in good rank also not benefited by and discount in fees. Campus provide us placement but in limited companies only. Library fee is also heigh even when student not wana use or sit in Rc they also can pay fix price no matter you are in which semester so i think library fee can be decided according to the semester of the student.
