The quality of the teachers are very good and they interact with us in a very beautiful way and the way they teach us the way they guide us is simply awesome.
I really like the facilities provided by the college, like the gym,garden,cafeteria etc.its very nice and sound
The college has a good education system supported well by the teachers.

Dislikes

We have not noticed any opportunities for scholarship, financial assistance or campus jobs.
The hod always behave rude and even the others faculty from dept also doesn't talk nicely.
I don't like the things is that there is no particular app specially designed for college

The aspects need to improved was new teaching skill in college

My sweet short journey!

Everything was perfect. The environment and all, you get a typical college environment,also other co curricular activities were also given equal importance.
Since, two out of three years of my college life went in lockdown, I didn't get much opportunity to involve in other activities but I did make the fullest out of it , in such a short period.
The faculties were amazing, friendly, caring and mostly importantly a true mentor. Compared to other colleges in india , Shillong is a city where people are very kind with each other. During my tenure I never felt the generational gap with teachers.

Dislikes

Nothing. I loved everything about it. Those college days were dreamy for me.
Nothing I hate about my college. It was an amazing experience.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Initially, everything seems to be perfect but as you upgrade youself with semister the difficulty level upgrades too by itself. But it's nothing like impossible. If you don't understand anything, you can ask the professors,who are always ready to help you. About the exam it the same like any other colleges. 2 semister per year.

St Edmund's college- A bliss

Likes

Good campus and faculty .. professors are friendly
Good food at reasonable prices is available in the 4 canteens
Good extra curricular activities are provided for people interested in sports,music,art etc

Dislikes

Classrooms could be made better and an elevator would be helpful
Network service is very slow in the campus
Campus is big and there is only one entrance

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose geography as I have a lot of interest in this subject and it gives you a lot of practical applicable skills..it prepares us very well for real world applications as we do a lots of practicals with lots of field works and activities.. it's all good,I have no complaints regarding teaching methods,the professors always give their best..exams are held after every semister (approximately twice a year) and the difficulty is average.

Likes

St. Edmunds college is regarded as the most prestigious college in shillong, Meghalaya mainly due to it outstanding facilities.
It has many curricular activities for students like sports , different clus eg. Fashion club , poetry club , baking club and so on.
It provides good discipline and character development for students

Dislikes

Sometimes the activities in the college are so much so that it disturbs the regular classes that has to be undertaken.
The college is very lenient on the student's attendance
There is no strict code or rule on the dress of the students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course I have taken is BA history Hons. The reason for this decision is to prepare for NET. The curriculum is very broad that it has provided new knowledge and preparations. The teachings should focus more on the subjects and not to go too much beyond it. The timing of examination is usually morning , and the difficulty level is 5 out of 10

Life in St. Edmund’s College, Shillong

Likes

A very creative teaching faculty who are very interactive and friendly
Inclusiveness for all students as well as visually impaired students
Important given to both academics as well co curriculars

Dislikes

Travelling facilities are not provided by the college to travel to and forth from college to home and vice versa
infrastructure can be improved, labs need more equipments

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the curriculum a 8/10. Although, we have a very creative bunch of teachers, there is a need to update the curriculum. We still follow traditional methods of learning which creates a hige problem bridging the gap between the education here verses the education abroad.I belief that there is a need to shift to a more field oriented form of education rather than a theoretical approach to the study. In that sense, there is a need of total reform.

MY COLLEGE

Likes

I really like the college since it provides all round development for all its students,be it curricular activities or in terms of academics
It has always been my dream college and getting admitted to it was really overwhelming for me.The campus,the classrooms, the environment
I feel like i am improving in everyway, be it my studies,my personality and my mindset.I am glad to be a part of the edmundian family

Dislikes

Continuous classes is really tiring sometimes
Having early morning class is also difficult

I chose this because I love the subject. I know that it really isn't an easy subject, but I'm willing to give my all. My economics teachers here are making me love the subject even more. Their efforts and dedication never go unnoticed

St Edmunds College, A Diverse experience.

Likes

The environment of the college and the students makes you feel like you really are in college.
The grounds for sports are available for a long time so i can play anytime i want to.
The college has a good education system supported well by the teachers.

Dislikes

The sports faculty is missing in some areas.
The football field is not properly maintained throughout the year.
The washrooms are a bit dirty and toilets are not nice.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The courses are mostly complete and satisfactory. The prices are also reasonable for one of the top colleges in Shillong, if not the North East. However the curriculum is a bit extra in my opinion. The Sec, Mdc and Vac courses all have their uses but their use is made negligible as they just add to the workload of the students which makes them a burden to study apart from our major and minor subjects.

Description of the St Edmunds College

Likes

I love the college, I love ehe facilities and the way they teach us
I love the people as I am surrounded by so many cultural and linguistic people
And I love everything there and the environment also so good for students

Dislikes

I don't think I dislike anything in this college

Course Curriculum Overview:

I think the course here is so less as compared to the other universities like we only have 8 paper in 3 years so we just need to prepare 8 papers for graduation so we have to study outside of the college syllabus also as they are not containing 100 off the graduation syllabus

The professors are great and know what they are do koing
The Department is the best department in Edmunds

Dislikes

More intership opportunities could be provided
College field should be open every day till late at night
The management could imorove in si many areas

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is available only from the sixth semester and i have no ideas on the companies and the package . My plans after getting this degree is to sit for exams like Cds, capf, ssc cgl , ib acio and others
