Campus & Infrastructure

KS Hegde offers the best infrastructure on campus to aid students with enhanced educational experiences. Some of the facilities are as follows:

• Library: The institute consists of a library with access to a collection of Medical Books & bound volumes. It receives about 136 periodicals yearly on various Medical subjects.

• Hostel: KS Hegde offers well-furnished separate hostels for both boys and girls.

• Laboratories: The laboratories are well-equipped with advanced medical equipment to aid practical sessions.

• Cafeteria: KS Hegde provides a cafeteria serving healthy and hygienic food on campus at affordable prices.

• Auditorium: The institute also houses an auditorium equipped with sound, audio and visual projectors to host club activities, cultural events and seminars.

• Sports: Students are encouraged to participate in sports facilities such as basketball, tennis, cricket, badminton, volleyball, football and others.

Hostel & Canteen

The first year MBBS Boys hostel is named Charak .The hostels are primarily available for students from Inside the campus, with fees ranging from INR 1.1 to 1.85 Lakh per year for Male & for Female hostel fee range from INR 99,000-1,85,000 based on AC & non AC room. Most rooms accommodate 3-4 students, with some facilities offering 2-seater rooms equipped with furniture, AC, and an attached bathroom. However, there are concerns about cleanliness, infrastructure, and overcrowding as some rooms lack closets or shelves for the first two years, and water shortages and mice have been reported. Mess facilities are not uniformly available across all hostels, with only a few hostels inside the campus having a mess, while others rely on three campus canteens.

In his words:” I was getting admission in KS Hegde Medical Academy Mangalore ( KSHEMA) , JNMC belagavi , JSS mysore and other low cut off colleges . I chose KSHEMA over other colleges because of patient load in hospital, academics , quality of teacher and their will to teach , well renovated and new infrastructure, providing all equipment like robotics also in a medical college, location of college in good healthy surrounding environment and providing all accessible things which we need to become a good doctor. I got rejected from KMC , Mangalore because 3 or 4 marks less required to get admission there . But later on I found that KSHEMA provides more facilities including academics than KMC , Mangalore. KMC Mangalore does not have sufficient infrastructure and is distributed in parts in Mangalore city. I found that the JNMC belagavi patient load decreased. I got this information from my cousin who is an MBBS intern in that college. The process of admission in KSHEMA is through NEET UG and NMC medical College counseling. In 2023 cut off score was 404 and 2.5 lakh rank In 2024 cut off was 1.5 lakh rank”.........Read More
