Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum provides thoery and practical both knowledge which help us to get perfect in our profession. It also guide us how to handle different circumstances by AETCOM modules. The curriculum prepares students well by guiding them theoretical, practical, professional, ethical , empathetic etc knowledges required to become a good legal medical practitioner in India . Areas of improvement can be provding more time to study and removing some unnecessary small kidish activities which destroy time . Frequency and timing of exam is ok according to me , just we need to study on daily basis to score good marks in exams .

Admission

I was getting admission in KS Hegde Medical Academy Mangalore ( KSHEMA) , JNMC belagavi , JSS mysore and other low cut off colleges . I chose KSHEMA over other collages because of patient load in hospital, academics , quality of teacher and their will to teach , well renovated and new infrastructure, provding all equipment like robotics also in a medical college, location of college in good healthy surrounding environment and providing all accessible things which we need to become a good doctor. I got rejection from KMC , Mangalore because of 3 or 4 marks less required to get addmission there . But later on I found that KSHEMA provids more facilities including academics them KMC , Mangalore. KMC Mangalore do not have sufficient infrastructure and is distributed in parts in the Mangalore city. I found that JNMC belagavi patient load got decrease. I got this information from my cousin who is a intern MBBS in that college. Process of admission in KSHEMA is through NEET UG and NMC medical College counciling. In 2023 cutt off score was 404 and 2.5 lakh rank In 2024 cutt off was 1.5 lakh rank

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio is much adequate for this course. They build a good and helpful relaion with students . They are well approachable whenever a student has a doubt , they always help us. I like Chaitra and Divya pai mam of anatomy most because they are the best teachers of anatomy. They teach students so well with best methods available with examples and most approachable way to every student. I don't like Prima mam of anatomy because her methods of teaching I felt were not approachable to every student. Collage conduct internal assessment and university exam. Final marksheet of each year is based on university examination scores. There will be 3 internal assessmentand 1 university exam at last . Each internal assessment consisting of 1 sessional exam and 1 CIE exam. Sessional exam has a thoey paper of 100 mark and 1 practical exam whose maximum score may vary from 20 to 100 . A CIE exam ( Continuous internal assessment) has a theory paper whose maximum marks vary from 20 to 50 ) and sometimes a practical exam whose maximum score vary from 10 to 20 In 1st year 3rd sessional exams of 3rd internal assessment has 2 thoery paper of 100 marks each having half portion in both papers In 2nd year 3rd sessional exams of 3rd internal assessment has 1 thoery paper of 100 marks . Every student need to score atleast 120 marks in thoery and 180 marks in practical ( after adding all scores of each internal assessment) to get eligible for university exam . If he fails to score this much he need to give improvement exams to score this critera of eligibility. University exam ( final marksheet of each year is based on this exam ) Each subject will have 2 theory paper of 100 mark each having half of the portion in both and 1 practical exam of 100 marks . Minimum score to pass any exam mentioned is 50 out of 100 . All exam level is moderate , students just need to prepare well to get pass . Otherwise students which don't study get fail . In 2023 15 students failed.

It has ground where students can play football , cricket, race , throwball etc . Hostel timings are till 11 pm for boys and 8 pm for girls ( they can study in library till 11 pm) . Hangout places inside college is ground, indoor stadium, gym . Same curriculum as the NMC is followed . In the beginning ears there wont be much exposure clinically like any other hospitals later on in 3rd amd 4th year there is more clinical exposure and patient interaction. According to me the exam level of 1st year is a bit tough as it is a changing phase from 12th to college and everything is new later on we get adjusted and find it easy and will understand how to phase the exam and how it is different from the previous exams of 11th or 12th . Only one exam will be for a academic year which includes the whole syllabus of that year
