There was no no such entrance exam to the said course. Students were selected on the basis of their 10+2 Board exam results. St. Xavier's College is one of the elite colleges in India and they set standard cut-offs for selection. After a student is selected, interview is taken and finally the student gets admission.
I personally love my college. It is extremely well-maintained with good teachers and many facilities which most other places do not have. The students are not too concerned about politics and we are more academically oriented. Bullying is rare and is quickly addressed. The teachers and staff are concerned for students and compassionate.
There is no entrance examination for B.com(Hons). It is purely based on your class 12 board exam marks. There are different cut off marks for CBSE, ISC and WB board.
I undertook B. Com (Hons) at St. Xaviers College because I wanted to do a professional course in finance Chartered Accountant. And what better combination - B. Com from St. Xaviers College, Kolkata and CA from ICAI. I scored 70% in the 3 years honours course. The reason for choosing St. Xaviers College, Kolkata is that it was and still is the best college in Kolkata.
The St.Xavier's college has it's own entrance examination that is conducted by the faculty of each Department. On the basis of the written exam score, an interview is conducted. On clearing both admission to the course is given. St. Xavier's has one of the best Sociology departments in the country, with excellent faculty, which is why i choose the college and course.
There was an application process and no entrance examination. It is one of the best colleges in India for commerce and extra curricular. The college has a great faculty team and the best crop of students.
Indian School Certificate Examinations (ISC) New Delhi .I scored 85% plus and opted for this college due to its excellent faculty and already established reputation.
I got admission in st xaviers on the basis of merit. I have chosen political science as i liked the subject very much and i am interested in studying comparative politics and international relations.
