Course Details

Asutosh College offers three-year B.Sc and BA course as Honors/ Major/ General/ in various disciplines. BBA course is only offered as an Honors course.

Candidates applying should have passed HSC with minimum 50% marks for an Honors course with 45% marks in the subjects in which the application is sought. Similarly, for General course candidate should have passed HSC with 40% marks.

Selection to each UG course is on the basis of merit list. Merit list is drawn considering candidate’s marks in top four subjects in the qualifying exam i.e. HSC. Admission to BBA (Hons.) is done on the basis of GD/PI.

Key Points:

Applicant should have compulsorily passed English in HSC or equivalent.
Candidate shall not be allowed for admission after a lapse of more than 5 years in education from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination.
However, the year of admission shall not be taken into account while calculating this 5 year period.
5% relaxation is given to SC/ ST candidates in the qualifying exam criteria

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have always been passionate towards the course I have chosen. The curriculum tries it's best to prepare us with adequate knowledge for further academic pursuits. The professors can be more regular to the classes and can use visual methods for better learning. Exams are conducted every 6 months and frequent class exams are taken for better learning.

Asutosh College pros and cons.

Likes

Loved the people there,the seniors,the events.
Notes are given but I think that could be increased a bit

Dislikes

The campus is not much, could have a park or playground for that
The campus buildings are scattered, the seminar building is a bit far from the main buildings.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course I'm doing is ba history hons and for me it is a very advantageous course which has a lot of potential and the person opting for it can get a lot of opportunities which is not very common during these times. Teaching is pretty good, could give more notes though.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose history honors cause I like to join the Indian army and I experienced a lot of questions are comes history related and mostly I like this subject. The student ratio is not so high it's good. Teachers are a lot in college and their syllabus is shot so they teach us well and timely. The syllabus to much that's why we faced some problems passing.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course syllabus is always updated by the norms of Calcutta University. The faculties are quite good also, especially Mass Communication. They are more than just teachers, you can get unimaginable solutions to life there.
