Likes

Best faculty members with great experience.
Beautiful college campus with greenery every where
Less amount of student which will provide constant learning

Dislikes

There is one library in this campus which creates trouble sometime.
Limited specializations course provided in this college
Faculty mainly focus on the theory more than practical

Admission:

This college is best over than other college I had ever seen with best teaching faculty at very less amount of acadmeic fees with great placement option .The admission process in this college is merit cum based couselling process is also there.

Good ambience or environment, spaces are also good

Not liking the some cruel seniors and their seniorty

Admission:

In 2020s I applied in total 3 colleges First is GNIHM Second is IIHM KOLKATA And third one and my favourite one is IHM KOLKATA In all three I got selected but I wanted to take my admission in IHM KOLKATA.

Likes

The college maintains topmost hygiene. The Housekeeping department is top-notch in here.
The teachers are very cooperative. They teach us very well and also during the practical works they help us without being rude.
The college is very time strict. There is a particular time when students can leave the premises and enter the premises.

Dislikes

For the day scholars who live far away it becomes difficult to cover the syllabus and the journal at the same time.
Hostels are allotted based on category basis.
The hostel students cannot leave the premises when they don't attend the college.

Admission:

After giving NCHMCT JEE 2024 i lost hope that I cannot clear the exam and applied to IIHM and gave PI there. I was selected in IIHM and when NCHM results were declared i cleared that too surprisingly with an AIR 500. Then there were many process. Like registration fees for 2k and then selection of college and they will allot a college to us according to our score. I got chosen by IHM Kolkata at first only.

IHM Kolkata an experience

Likes

IHM Kolkata is one of the top colleges to pursue Hotel Management. The Campus is equipped with modern kitchens, well furnished labs, fully operational training labs. The Faculties are highly knowledgeable and industry trained.
Campus life at IHM Kolkata was very vibrant and dynamic. The college provides various social interaction opportunities. We used to have sports day, freshers party and farewell parties, an important IHM tradition is Gourmet Night.
All our faculties had experience in Hotel industry which allowed them to shared important insights from their practical experience. They trained us well in theory as well as practical.

Dislikes

I loved my college and the experience that it gave me, every faculty who helped to make me industry ready and the very supportive seniors who where their to guide me every step of the way.

Admission:

In order to take admission in any IHM we need to give JEE exam for Hotel Managment and depending on your rank they allow you to choose the college of your liking. E.g My All india rank was 803 which allowed me to choose from top seven colloges of IHM. I opted for Kolkata as it was close to my hometown. I never applied to any other college, i was focused on getting into IHM and I did on my first try.

My College.

Likes

The infrastructure and development is amazing.
Faculty is top notch, they take extra care of any student is lagging behind or need extra help.
The College management is good they take care of almost everything

Dislikes

The interview process for a job, if you are in the favourite student group you are good to go, if not you are not.
The kitchen can be a little bit clean. The helpers can be better in communication.
Favouritism is a know practice there for jobs.

Admission:

To get into this college or any Central Government run college you will have to appear in a exam NCHM JEE you get the cut off for your desired college. The reason I choose this college as it was in the ranking of 4th best and also my rank according to the marks was suitable for this college.

The faculty is serious about academics ,they teach with full potential and extract the best out of students , not sugar coating. The campus is strictly under discipline. There is academic pressure and opportunities to become better in all departments
The crowd is something I have remained dissatisfied with . But there are few gems be it senior or your own batchmates ,you'll find your people . Rather than that that campus life is top notch with gourmet events and culturals and various clubs and ac
Faculty here is serious ,devoted and knowledgeable. They try to teach from within each and every student . Obvious there's variations but overall academics is taken seriously here . Almost all students gets placed in good hotels and retails .

Dislikes

The crowd is not very accepting or indulgent . But there are people who you can learn from . Find them
Placement is taken very seriously here . More than 50 companies line up for recruitment. Even though the package is not high as per the course fees but in this sector they provide the best .
The industry in itself is tough . But if one is passionate enough they can reach high heights . There are prominent GM's and chefs that have graduated from this college hence the alumnis is very strong and responsible.

Admission:

1. Less costly than other colleges 2. Very good reputation 3. Fully government 4. Very good placements 5. Faculty is top notch 6. Paid internship 7. College provides chance for internship Admission process is a national exam called nchm jee ..wherein good rank makes you eligible for all government ihms present in almost all states . I didn't apply for any other colleges .

Facts about IHM KOLKATA

Likes

I like all the faculty of the college because they are very experienced.
I like the infrastructure of the college.
I like the placement of the college because almost every student gets placed.

Dislikes

I didn't like the campus because it is very small comparing to others
I disliked the college building which is very old
I disliked the college mess food because they are so tasteless

Admission:

Eligibility course is 12th. After 12th you have to fill the NCHMCT JEE form and on the basis of rank you can select your dream college. Various reservation is given such as EWS, OBC etc. The timing of the exam is there is 2 exam in a semester one is mid term exam and second is End term exam

The environment of the college. It's is very calm and gives a professional vibe.
The faculty members are really friendly. They are very nice there teaching way is so professional and good. They teach with the help of presentation and activities as well.
For every core subjects we have labs. And for the kitchen lover they will absolutely love it here

Dislikes

The hostel rules. I am not a in hostel but they are very strict.
Mae sure to make good friends groups . It plays a very important role in you hotel management journey.

Admission:

• the eligibility is 10+2 • you will find the application form in the official website of nchmct . • you have to give entrance to get into the college • twice a year is semester exam. And in the middle of the semester there is midterm. • all the information is not given properly. You have to keep track about it in website by checking on a daily basis •

Lots of facility of showcasing your extracurricular activites in many social activities.
Lots of good books for boosting your knowledge and a internship programme to gain experience in industry.
Lots of certificate programme to enhance your knowledge.

Dislikes

The food served during lunch in cafeteria.
There is no advantage for scoring good marksin terms exams in campus placement other than teaching.

Admission:

The entrance exam is Nchm jee and you will find it from the Nta portal. you have to get english as our subject in the 10+2 exam and there are reservation facilities as per rule and have to take the exam in Maths Eng Gk current affairs and min cut off 2143 rank for ihm Kolkata.

IHM Kolkata- Among The TOP 5 Hotel Management Colleges In India

Likes

I liked the strictness of the college, it helps to build the students to great aspect.
I liked the campus which was simple yet modern, with smart boards and motion sensing projectors that helped studying more efficient.
I liked the practical experience that was given to students with upto date equipments that helped the students before going to hotels.

Dislikes

Rules are too strict, even you are not allowed to give exam how important it is if you are 2 mins late to college after the gate closes.
Too much of co- curricular activities, there was like 2-3 events every month and students were chosen for that.

Admission:

This is one of the top Central Government Colleges that offers Hotel Management Courses, so for this it is a must to take an Entrance Exam named - NCHMCT JEE (National Council Of Hotel Management and Catering Technology) to get this college that is IHM Kolkata, if you are General you have to keep your rank within 2000, and if you are SC or ST you can get here easily as because is goes up to 20,000 and up, so as improvement I want the cutoff of SC and ST should come down as this is totally unfair to the general candidates as there is a gap of perhaps more than 20000.
