IHM Kolkata an experience

Hostel Facilities:

Our hostel room had a bed, 01 cupboard and 01 study table. The meal quality was good and the menu was decided by us. Registration process was simple and it can be done at the time of admission. The hostel rent was included in the college fee but we had to pay INR 1000/- extra every month for the meals at hostel.

Doubts and questions

The hostel rooms will be having 2 fans and will be three sharing which will have 3 cupboards for all three roommates. The hostel will provide you with 3 meals a day and the college will give lunch to everyone. The hostel will be given on a first come first serve basis.

Hostel facility is provided for both boys and girls. There are single and sharing rooms. In shared rooms, there are 3-4 students staying together. full security is there. Everything you need to know about IHM KOLKATA.

After the counselling ends and you're finally into your college, the college releases a hostel application form which is filled by the students who are interested in taking hostel. The students get allotted on basis of AIR. The better AIR the more probability of you getting the hostel. My rank was pretty good so I was allotted. The rooms are on a triple sharing basis where every individual gets one bed, study table and one cupboard for their belongings. There are 4 bathrooms on one floor which is shared by the entire floor and the washrooms are both Indian and western styled. Now, talking about the meals, our hostel provides four meals in a day i.e. breakfast, lunch, evening snack and dinner where the lunch is given to non hostelites too because it's a government college and mid day meal is a part of govt's schemes. The food is a mixture of veg and non veg so now really faces any problem. The fees for the hostel is 30,000 per semester which means 60000 a year.

The hostel is situated on the premises of the campus, a Separate hostel for boys and girls.It has 24 hours electricity, water and security and a hostel officer who is present 24 hours in the hostel, the rooms have got ambient lighting, quite spacious, separate beds, windows, fan and separate study table -chair for all the room residents, clean washrooms. Indoor games in hostel, Common mess kitchen and Dining Area (managed by the students)

One of the best colleges

No, I dont opted for hostel as I live in my relatives house. Yes the college provides hostel beased on the ranking of students in nchmt exam. For outside pg's rent is around 3000 per month. For the facilities side no more facilities is needed as there is much of faculties like our home.

INSTITUTE OF HOTEL MANAGEMENT, KOLKATA.

Hostel in provided on the basis of rank and i was lucky enough to get hostel accommodation. 1 and second years live in sharing rooms with 3 people in one room. each student gets a table, a chair and a huge cupboard. the rooms are big and airy with 3 fans. final year students get individual rooms.There is one central mess run by the students. Our hostels are in campus and have well a equipped gym. the hostel fees is 20 thousand a year.

No. I was not staying in hostels. But many of my classmates were. The hostel rules are very strict for both boys and girls. Girls are not allowed to stay outside of the hostel after 7 pm and for boys it is 8 pm.
