Eligibility Criteria
Aspirants seeking admission to 3-years Full-time Ph.D. Program should meet the following criteria as specified by the institute.
Academic Requirement:
- M.Tech. in Food Science/ Food Technology and Management/ Food Safety and Quality Management /Food Supply Chain Management OR M.Sc. Degree in Food Science & Technology/Life Science/ Agriculture/Environmental and Allied area from recognized institute/university. with at least 60% marks.
Entrance Exam:
- Preference will be given to NET/GATE qualified candidates.
- All candidates shall have to appear for Research Entrance Test (RET) to be organized by NIFTEM in its campus followed by interview for the candidates who qualify RET. Merit list will be prepared on the basis of RET (70% weightage) and interview (30% weightage). Due weightage will be given to NET/GATE qualified candidates.
- The RET shall consist of seventy (70) objective type questions of one mark each. The duration of the test will be one hour. The test shall consist of two parts. Part-A shall contain twenty (20) questions to test the Mental Agility, English and General Knowledge of the candidate. Part-B shall contain fifty (50) questions to test candidate`s technical background in their eligibility areas. There shall be negative marking, and for each wrong answer 0.25 marks will be deducted and the merit would be prepared by combining the scores of RET and Interview. As mentioned earlier, due weightage will be given to NET/GATE qualified candidates for preparation of merit list.
