Admission to the college is determined through the CAP rounds organized by the government, consisting of three rounds based on a merit list. The college is chosen by students for its placement opportunities and in-plant training (IPT) offerings. The faculty largely comprises highly qualified individuals, including many PhD holders and alumni from prestigious institutions like IITs. However, the frequent turnover of contract-based staff can disrupt learning continuity. Fees for open category students are approximately 80,000 INR annually, which includes exam fees.
Scholarships for open category students range from 25,000 to 35,000 INR, while OBC students receive a 50% fee reduction and scholarships between 3,000 to 4,000 INR. NT category students pay 8,000 INR, and other categories pay less than 4,000 INR, both with additional scholarships. Fees can be paid in 3 to 4 online installments. The fee includes amenities such as Wi-Fi, library access, and playgrounds. The college offers IPT in collaboration with industries like TCL, TCS, Mahindra, and others, creating job opportunities, although placement satisfaction is declining with a decreasing placement ratio.
Typically, 30 to 40 students from the E & TC department secure placements, with packages starting at 1.44 lakh per annum. No stipend is offered during the IPT. The six-month IPT is mandatory for completing the Bachelor of Technology degree. Scholarships are available for OBC, SC, ST, and NT categories with fee relaxations from 40% to 90%, as per government rules. Government hostel scholarships are also available by category. The college does not offer loan facilities but accepts payments through bank loans.
