BMSIT Admission FAQs
Ques. Is the KCET fee at BMSIT much lower than management-quota for CSE?
Ans. Management-quota CSE fees at BMSIT are INR 26,00,000 over four years. KCET-quota fees are Karnataka state-regulated and significantly lower. A good KCET rank makes the government-quota seat far more affordable for CSE.
Ques. Can students from outside Karnataka apply for BE at BMSIT through COMEDK?
Ans. COMEDK UGET consortium-quota seats are open to students from all states. Non-Karnataka students primarily apply through COMEDK for BE. COMEDK UGET 2026 results were declared on May 26, 2026, and counselling is currently underway. Management-quota seats also have no domicile requirement.
Ques. Does BMSIT MBA accept CAT scores or only PGCET?
Ans. BMSIT MBA accepts Karnataka PGCET scores for government-quota seats. For management-quota seats, CAT and MAT scores are also accepted. Apply directly to BMSIT with your score to skip PGCET counselling. The PGCET MBA exam is on June 14, 2026.
Ques. Which M.Tech specialisation at BMSIT is the most affordable?
Ans. CSE carries the lowest management-quota fee at INR 2,00,000 for two years. Cyber Security is INR 2,50,000, and VLSI Design and Embedded Systems is INR 5,00,000. PGCET-quota fees for all three are lower, regulated by Karnataka. GATE-qualified students are eligible for the AICTE stipend through the GATE route.
Ques. What is the process for BE Lateral admission at BMSIT for diploma holders?
Ans. BE Lateral admission is through Karnataka DCET for government-quota seats. DCET 2026 exam is in June 2026, results expected in July 2026, with KEA counselling in July and August. Management-quota seats can be applied for directly at bmsit.ac.in. Admitted students join the third semester.
Ques. What documents do I need for BMSIT BE admission?
Ans. You will need: 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates, KCET or COMEDK scorecard and allotment letter, transfer and migration certificates, category certificate if applicable, Aadhaar card, and passport-size photographs. Keep originals and four attested copies. For management quota, also carry the fee payment receipt.
Ques. Is BMSIT a good choice for AI and ML branch over other Bangalore colleges?
Ans. BMSIT offers AI and Machine Learning in BE at a management-quota fee of INR 22,00,000 over four years. KCET-quota fees are considerably lower. If you have a strong KCET or COMEDK rank targeting AI and ML in Bangalore near semiconductor and IT firms, BMSIT is a reasonable option. Check KCET closing ranks before the management-quota route.
Ques. Can I pursue Ph.D at BMSIT with a GATE score instead of appearing for VTU entrance test?
Ans. Yes. GATE and UGC-NET qualified candidates may be exempted from the VTU research entrance test at BMSIT. Attend a research interview after the exemption. Total Ph.D fee is INR 1,83,600 over the minimum three years. Applications are submitted through the VTU research portal during the notified 2026-27 cycle.
