ANITS, affiliated to Andhra University, offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in a wide range of branches in the field of Engineering and Technology. Admission to the courses offered by ANITS is done in two categories – merit and quota. The merit categories are filled based on performance in EAPCET and PGECET for undergraduate and postgraduate courses, respectively.
The Management quota / NRI quota seats have a separate admission process, and eligibility must be proved to be considered for admission. Spot admissions may be given in certain cases if vacancies occur in the Category ‘B’ seats, which will be notified through the official website of the institute.
Out of the total capacity of ANITS seats for B.Tech, 70% are filled by the EAPCET exam. The seats among students are distributed by the government according to their ranks, preferences, and reservation policies. 30% of the seats, which are not filled by EAPCET, are filled by the college under the Management or NRI quotas, by APSCHE and state government rules.
Candidates who hold a Diploma can apply for admission to the Bachelor’s programme through Lateral Entry if they have qualified for the EAPCET. The Lateral Entry admissions constitute an overall 10% of the admissions.
Also, diploma holders may now join directly into the second year of the B.Tech course through the ECET exam. This is termed Maternal entry, and 10% per course is allotted through it based on the student's ECET rank, choices, as well as reservation rules.
An applicant should possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology in an appropriate discipline from a recognized university to be eligible for the M. Tech full-time course. In addition, a candidate with AMIE or AMIETE qualifications (considered equivalent to B. Tech) and holding a valid GATE score can also apply.

According to him, the faculty-to-student ratio is around 1:15 in most departments, with even more faculty available in Mechanical Engineering. He also shared that the Computer Science faculty is approachable and generally good in terms of teaching and support. Read more…
ANITS Admission 2025 FAQs
Ques. I am getting information technology at Andhra University and CSD from ANITS. Which one is better?
Ans. It is suggested to prefer the IT branch at AUCE, as it is highly sought after, with many students securing seats through the management quota by paying substantial fees. The college is known for its excellent teaching quality, well-developed infrastructure, and a strong record of campus placements.
Ques. Should I join Anits Mechanical or the GITAM CSE?
Ans. It depends on your interests. If you have a strong background in mechanical engineering, ANITS would be a great choice. However, if you're more interested in coding, GITAM is a better option, as it offers more placement opportunities in the software sector. Choosing the CSE branch at GITAM can increase your chances of getting placed and entering the corporate world easily.
Ques. Which branch is the best in ANITS?
Ans. The best branch at ANITS (Anil Neerukonda Institute of Technology and Sciences) largely depends on a student's personal interests and career goals. However, some of the more popular and in-demand branches include Computer Science Engineering (CSE), well known to place students globally into the best tech companies; Information Technology (IT), which is strongly oriented around software development and networking; Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), which seems to promise opportunities in both electronics and IT field; and Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), one's dream specialization if he/she is interested in power systems and core electronics. Choosing a branch should be based on one's attitude, strengths, and ambitions for future career plans. It helps in reviewing the curriculum, faculty, and placement records of all these departments before deciding.
