The Master of Surgery (M.S.) in Ophthalmology at Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (HIMSR), New Delhi, is a 3-year full-time postgraduate medical programme offered under Jamia Hamdard (a NAAC A+ accredited deemed-to-be university). The programme provides comprehensive training in clinical and surgical ophthalmology, covering areas such as cataract surgery, glaucoma management, retinal disorders, corneal diseases, oculoplasty, and paediatric ophthalmology. With a seat intake of 3 per year, the course is conducted at HIMSR's attached 710-bedded Hakeem Abdul Hameed Centenary Hospital (HAHCH), which provides extensive clinical exposure. The annual tuition fee is Rs. 25,00,000 for Indian candidates. Admission is through NEET PG counselling conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) of DGHS, Government of India. The programme is popular among MBBS graduates seeking specialisation in eye care, given HIMSR's strong clinical infrastructure and its location in Delhi.

Admissions for the 2026-27 session will be based on NEET PG 2026 scores. NEET PG 2026 is scheduled to be held on 30th August 2026. MCC counselling for PG medical admissions typically begins after the NEET PG result, usually in October-November. As of March 2026, the 2025-26 NEET PG counselling has concluded and the new session is yet to begin.
