HIMSR M.S. (Obstetrics & Gynaecology) FAQs

Ques. Is there any management quota or direct admission available for M.S. Obstetrics & Gynaecology at HIMSR?

Ans. No. HIMSR has no management quota for MD/MS programmes. All 4 seats in M.S. Obstetrics & Gynaecology are 100% under the All India Quota (AIQ) managed by MCC. Admission is strictly based on NEET PG merit and MCC counselling. Any agent or individual claiming to offer direct admission to HIMSR should be treated with caution, as HIMSR has itself issued public notices warning against such impersonation.

Ques. What is the stipend for M.S. Obstetrics & Gynaecology residents at HIMSR?

Ans. PG residents at HIMSR receive a stipend of Rs. 80,000 per month for the entire 3-year duration. Over 3 years, this amounts to approximately Rs. 28,80,000 in total stipend. While this is a significant support, it does not fully offset the total course fee of Rs. 80,35,000. Students should plan their finances accordingly.

Ques. What is the clinical exposure like for Obstetrics & Gynaecology at HIMSR?

Ans. The HAH Centenary Hospital at HIMSR is a 710+ bed multi-speciality hospital in South Delhi with dedicated obstetrics and gynaecology wards, labour rooms, and operation theatres. The hospital caters to a large patient population from the surrounding areas, providing residents with exposure to a wide range of obstetric emergencies, high-risk pregnancies, and gynaecological surgeries including laparoscopic procedures. The case load is considered good for a private deemed university setting.

Ques. What happens if I withdraw from HIMSR after being allotted a seat through MCC?

Ans. If you withdraw within the MCC counselling schedule (during Round 1, 2, or 3 withdrawal windows), a deduction of Rs. 40,000 INR is made. However, if you withdraw after the counselling period or after the last date of admission, you are liable to pay the entire 3-year course fee (Rs. 75,00,000 in tuition alone) as per the Discontinuation Bond signed at the time of admission.

Ques. Is the Rs. 2,00,000 security deposit paid to MCC adjusted in HIMSR fees?

Ans. No. The Rs. 2,00,000 security deposit paid to MCC at the time of counselling is NOT adjusted in HIMSR fees. It is refunded by MCC separately. Students must pay the full HIMSR fee (tuition + other charges) separately at the time of reporting to the institute.

Ques. What is the Muslim Minority reservation policy for M.S. Obstetrics & Gynaecology at HIMSR?

Ans. 50% of the total seats (excluding NRI seats) in all MD/MS programmes at HIMSR are reserved for Muslim Minority candidates by birth. For M.S. Obstetrics & Gynaecology (4 total seats, 1 NRI), 2 out of the remaining 3 seats are reserved for Muslim Minority candidates. To claim this reservation, candidates must submit a Muslim Minority Affidavit in the prescribed format (available on the HIMSR website) at the time of reporting. The reservation is applied during MCC counselling itself.
