HIMSR MD Radiodiagnosis FAQs
Q1. Why is the fee for MD Radiodiagnosis at HIMSR so high compared to other specialties?
Ans. MD Radiodiagnosis is the most sought-after PG medical specialty in India due to the high earning potential and work-life balance it offers. HIMSR charges Rs. 40,00,000 per annum for this specialty, making the total course fee Rs. 1,25,35,000. This reflects the premium demand for radiology seats. Despite the high fee, the monthly stipend of Rs. 80,000 (total Rs. 28,80,000 over 3 years) partially offsets the cost.
Q2. Is there any management quota or direct admission available for MD Radiodiagnosis at HIMSR?
Ans. No. HIMSR does not have any management quota, Delhi state quota, or direct/offline admission for MD/MS programmes. All 49 PG seats (including MD Radiodiagnosis) are filled exclusively through MCC All India Quota (AIQ) NEET PG counselling via mcc.nic.in.
Q3. How many seats are available for MD Radiodiagnosis at HIMSR?
Ans. There are 3 seats for MD Radiodiagnosis at HIMSR. This is one of the most competitive specialties with very few seats available across India, making the NEET PG rank requirement very high.
Q4. What imaging facilities are available at HIMSR for MD Radiodiagnosis training?
Ans. HAH Centenary Hospital, the associated teaching hospital of HIMSR, is equipped with modern imaging facilities including digital X-ray, ultrasound machines, CT scanners, and MRI machines. Residents get hands-on training in all modalities including interventional radiology procedures, which is essential for comprehensive radiology training.
Q5. What is the NEET PG rank required for MD Radiodiagnosis at HIMSR?
Ans. MD Radiodiagnosis is the most competitive specialty in NEET PG. For HIMSR (Deemed University category), the All India Rank required has historically been in the top 1,000-5,000 AIR range, though this varies each year. Candidates are advised to check the official MCC seat allotment results for the most recent cutoff data.
Q6. What documents are required at the time of reporting to HIMSR after seat allotment?
Ans. Candidates must carry original documents including MBBS degree/provisional certificate, mark sheets of all MBBS professional exams, internship completion certificate, NEET PG admit card and scorecard, MCC allotment letter, category certificate (if applicable), minority affidavit (for Muslim Minority category), gap affidavit (if applicable), and a Demand Draft for the fee amount.
