  • Approximately 80% of students secure jobs within 6 months of graduation depending on the program and location. The average salary of most graduates falls between $40,000 and $50,000 per year. In-demand jobs have salaries between $70,000 annually.
  • Students can find jobs on various online platforms like LinkedIn, google search, glassdoor, indeed.

  • I found accommodation online and also through agents. Generally, when you are searching for a place in a condo in toronto u need an agent because they do all the talking with the landlord and get your paperwork done. Challenges faced depend on the person. Many landlords are fussy so they don't entertain students.
  • I would suggest always looking for a place yourself first and negotiating on the rent. Always negotiate.

  • After graduating from Georgian College, I was assured of a bright career. The salaries after graduation differ according to the industry and job title; however, graduates from Georgian are usually paid decent amounts.
  • Employment Search Techniques:-Students can employ several strategies in seeking employment after graduation:
  • Campus Recruitment: Students work with the college's Co-op Education and Career Success team, who connect them with potential employers.
  • The internship is done during the course for getting practical exposure and making professional connections.
  • Networking: Attending industry events, workshops, and seminars to connect with professionals and learn about job opportunities.
  • Online Job Portals: Utilizing job portals, including but not limited to Indeed, LinkedIn, and the college's own job portal to look for and apply to positions.

  • I opted to stay off campus while studying at Georgian College, which was more
    independent.
  • I used websites like Kijiji, Facebook Market Place to find off-campus accommodation. These apps help students find off-campus housing by listing out available properties and profiles of students looking for roommates, making it easier to find a place to stay.
  • The rent amount is between $400-$700 per month. I got a fully furnished apartment that had all the required necessities, such as electricity, heating, water, internet access, a fully equipped fitness centre and laundry.
  • Accommodation was a challenge to secure, due to the competitive rental market near the college. This often meant that when housing did become available, it was necessary to act quickly. Besides, understanding the rental agreements and local regulations required attention to detail to avoid misunderstandings and ensure full compliance.
  • My honest advice is to start your house search as early as possible, preferably before arrival. Websites like Places4Students, and Kijiji can be helpful. It is advised to get in touch with other students through college forums or social media groups to help each other find a place to stay.
  • Wherever possible, visiting the potential accommodations in person will give a better idea of the living conditions and the neighbourhood around.
  • My accommodation was about a 5-minute walk from the college campus. Many international students, including those from India, prefer to stay in places like Allandale and Holly because of their proximity to the college and the easy availability of houses on rent. These areas offer shared accommodation and private rentals as well making it popular choice among students .Overall, it’s not very challenging to find off-campus housing near Georgian College, careful
planning and seeking out available resources can be very helpful.

  • Yes, a lot of them secure a good amount of jov, ranging from $50000 to $150000 annual. It depends on your science, your experience, and the course you have studied in Canada.
  • Placement at our college doesn’t take place, as I have already mentioned that the campus is so bas and small so no such things take place.
  • You have to go outside and search for it on your own.

  • I was supposed to live with my friend whom I have been knowing since my childhood so finding accommodation was not an issue for me but I would suggest you look on FB Marketplace and Kijiji before coming to Canada because it helps a lot in every aspect and the main thing is, please do not pay any money before somebody you know looks at the accommodation.
  • If you don’t know anyone, rent AirBnB for a few days and fin’s accommodation after coming here.

According to me as Georgian college has a wide range of connections and partnerships with plathora of companies for students of Georgian have a great chance of getting placements and co-ops with huge companies.

There are a plethora of reasons why I opted for Georgian, which are Engaged Faculty, Community Engagement, Modern facilities and technology program offerings, practical learning opportunities, and Industries connections.

Placement process is good but sometimes we have to find the internship on our own. I am currently studying so I haven't visited any company for placement but I have heard about it from my seniors and peers.

My experience is pretty good till now. College and faculty are good and well versed and they are also helpful. Accommodation is also excellent. Overall the experience is excellent.

It is generally advised to research and inquire directly with the college or university about the placement and research opportunities available for students in a specific program of interest. Colleges often have career services departments that can provide information about job placement rates and support students in finding employment after graduation. Similarly, universities may have research centers or faculty members who can guide students in pursuing research opportunities.

Georgian College is known for its diverse programs, modern facilities, and supportive learning environment, fostering students' growth and preparing them for successful careers. Many students appreciate the practical hands-on approach to education and the opportunities for real-world experiences through co-op placements and partnerships with industry.

There will be a job fair and there’s a co-op between my course. But most students get a co-op with Honda, Bell or Rogers

It’s nice till now. Maths professors could be better in this college but the environment here in Barrie is quite nice and friendly.
